Aiya85. You would need a radio with dual zone( this one does not have that) or a overhead/ headrests with a built in DVD player. Most of the time the second option is the one we go with. You can have the rear seat doing what they want and you doing what you want. You can also feed in the front DVD so if everyone wants to watch you can play it from the front.

Agreed with previous poster. Pioneer gives us 'hope' then completely blue balls us with their releases. 2015 model 4700BS owner here...and I find it absolutely beyond belief that ANY double din touchscreen unit in the year 2016 is devoid of HDMI, whether low or high end. I can appreciate the better screen quality in the new units (you can easily see it has better contrast and less glare), but the deal breaker for me is the lack of MirrorLink. Yes, I fully understand I'm probably one of only a handful of people on the planet that like MirrorLink, but few people are aware that you can get full touchscreen mirroring from your smartphone like mirrorcasting via USB and the Rockscout app without HDMI with Pioneer MirrorLink headunits. A bit laggy but it's pretty darn crackin. There are a few videos on youtube on this hack. Great review as always!

I agree, but forget HDMI. There is no reason they can not be wireless using Android's MiraCast or Apple's AirPlay. That is my wish list.

In the EQ settings s ( touch the EQ icon on the top right side of the display) raise the 3 frequencies (5khz,8khz,12.5khz) on the right side of the 13 bands. These are the treble bands of the EQ. You may also want to turn on the loudness setting in the audio adjustment. It is in the audio setup- scroll to the bottom.

I just want to verify that manually bringing up the rear camera feed does not switch to a different "source" and pause the audio stream.

Moriah Garrett it is steering wheel compatible. Yes this is common, most of the time it is the iPhone limiting it. Apple want to push better sound over the limit Bluetooth signal.

I need some help. Even pioneer couldnt answer me and had to create a service ticket. So i got this 4800bs head unit. Im using a clarion eqs755 and im using the front rca channel from 4800 and going in to the clarion. On the 4800 i have the crossover turned off so all frequencies will go into the clarion. However, after my friend did a sound frequency sweep it shows that im getting a steep cut off after 50hz and almost no bass in the 20 to 30 40hz region. So is this because im using the front channel and even if the crossover is off the head unit wont send frequencies below 50hz? Very confused... Maybe the 20 30 40hz frequencies only exist if you use the subwoofer channel?

The Mode button is for use with the add on AVIC u260 navigation. It what you press to switch between screens. With out the navigation it does nothing.

Question. (This is my current hu) When connected to a reverse camera and putting my truck in reverse, the head unit automatically switches to a preset level of volume that i have previously programmed in settings. This would be fine, except that i cannot change the volume whatsoever until i come out of reverse. My question is: can i mess with the volume while in reverse camera mode with this hu? This is especially helpful with specific songs that are louder than others. Thank you.

+Joeup24 I decided on the pioneer. For 1 the price, pioneer was cheaper. 2 reviews, the few reviews that I was able to find on the Kenwood talked about some dislike for the interface. The pioneer 4800 had been upgraded to the NEX interface so it was said to be smoother. Things like that. Oh yea, better audio controls on the pioneer.

Dj Paco yes the radio has a camera input located on the rear left side. It is the brown RCA next to the Pioneer yellow navigation port. The purple/white wire in the harness is the reverse light trigger input.

John Reece normally I would recommend the iSimple MediaLinks, but it will not work with a Cromecast. You need to find a way to convert the HDMI to rca and then split it to both units.

The factory Bluetooth is built into the OnStar system so if you would like to keep it you will need the Pac-audio RP5. If you would like to use the new radios Bluetooth ( recommend) you will need the RP4 version. They will both do steering wheel controls and Bose. You will just need to go to Bestkits.con to get the the rest of the part number. RP#- GM##

Yes, there is a purple white wire on the radio that needs to be connected to the reverse lights so the radio knows it is in reverse.

during initial setup after choosing Iphone there is two options for connection one is USB and another one is Wireless BT, What is the difference between these two? Also can you tell me is it possible to connect to App radio live apps via bluetooth???

If you but it in USB you have to plug in the phone for Pandora, iPod playlist, and Spotify. The nice thing is you will get album artwork. If you choose Bluetooth those sources will work without being plugged in. No on AppRadio over Bluetooth.

DANNY TAGGART the only time the audio settings should be grayed out is if you have not selected a source. So make sure it is on FM or something like that

Trevor Olson the mode button on the radio does nothing. It only works when you have the add on navigation. It is the buttons to switch to the navigation. Your steering wheel control probably has a source button, they are different.

Great videos guys. I was curious as to if getting the Kenwood is better than this unit. The only thing that makes me wonder is because the Kenwoods are twice as much money. I'm not afraid to spend the money on the Kenwood if it's that much better, but if the pioneer is better for half the price it would obviously make sense to get that.

netslaveh4d yes you would turn on the AV input in the menu. Anytime you wanted to view the front camera you would select AV from the source drop down. The only set back would be no sound from any other source while the front camera is on.

Hi . I have a avh-4800bs and I was using it regularly. one day I was watching Netflix. But I can't see it on the screen because I don't have the wire, at the time I was only using the audio. Then I drive somewhere and shut off the car. After coming back to my car I noticed when trying to touch English it would automatically go to Chinese and stay in that screen. It wouldn't let me press English or continue on with the Chinese language atleast. Please help thank you.

If you have an iPhone you get Siri eyes free( we have a video showing that). If you have Android you can pick your voice app. To get to it you have to press the phone icon then press the voice icon. If you have steering wheel controls( and buy a module) you can program one of the buttons to take you right to talk.

+Patrick Prather if your phone has a push to command feature like Siri and it is working now it will work the same. For some reason most Android owners do not have this feature turned on. If you do not have it turned on when you first go to use it it will ask you to pick an app.

chybooze1 check your smartphone settings, if on other it needs to be on USB/MTP not AppRadio. If on iPhone it needs to be on USB. Get there menu- gears- input-output setting- smartphone settings

The 4800 seems to be super glitchy and I want to simplify my life and grab a pioneer with car play. +lennyauditt the biggest difference, in my opinion, is the 4800 has faster processor AND new clear resistive screen which is clearer, sharper and looks almost like capacitive. If you can, id try to swap your 4700 for the 4800

Totally different radios. The 4800 does not have Apple CarPlay, HDMI,or dual USB. If you have Android the Da120 is a wast of time go with the 4800 or the 4200.

Yes the radio tuner may not work. Our radio stations all end in odd numbers. Example 93.3, 105.5, 97.9

WuzUp Guys I Have Quick Question But Before I Get To That I Just Wanna Say I Watched An Old Video Of You Guys To Make Up My Mind On Which Double Din Pioneer Deck I Wanted To Install In My Car And I Went With The Pioneer 4800 7inch...After Watching Your Video I Purchased All The Accessories From The Video All The Plugs Rca Jacks Hdmi Cords and all so i can use my phn in the car for music netflix and mirroring I already have all that for when I take the car to get hooked up I'll have everything I need...My Question now is I Currently Use A Samsung Galaxy Phone At This Time and yes I have the plugs for Samsung use as well but...after thinking about it I'm not sure if I will be with Samsung much longer so I was wondering is there any kind of plug,splitter or adapter or something to that effect for behind the deck or hidden in glove box that I can purchase so I can continue to use Samsung AND Apple products such as IPhone/Ipod without a big mess of wires ? I really need you guys help on this I hope I get a reply or even if you could send me a link or something of what i can purchase...again thanks and I hope you can help me out

I have the galaxy s7 edge downloaded the radio live and when I connect it to this unit the picture is pixelated distorted badly. What is causing this both units are updated and it lets me in the app on the radio but once im there the picture is horrible its ok on my phone though. any suggestions?

My pioneer avh 4800 wont end call after I've hung up on phone ,all options greyed out can't turn it off or anything. I have to turn my car off and back on again to get the call to end . Any ideas, thanks in advance ,you guys have always been good at replying to questions . Great channel.
