Here's something cool I've thought about from her merch teaser: J attributes her self worth to the ideas of her corporate dedication and obedience, never once mistrusting the system. She is an extremely confident person in both the pilot and that teaser, and for a person like that their cracks are the times we learn more about them than their confidence. She cracks in the teaser when she makes a mistake, in the pilot when uzi corners her, and when she has to leave Tessa to do dirty work. To me, this really screams a character that is going to unravel during the finale, either digging deeper into their reliance on the system for her self esteem, becoming a willing sacrifice to the solver, or into madness that is going to implode in on herself die from her own insecurities being exposed. She doesn't have enough time to recoup from a revelation like the kind she will be subjected to, so the only effective use of her character is a "descent into madness" which we don't have yet and would be a good contrast to N's fighting for Uzi. A "cracking because of yourself" vs a "staying strong for someone else" dynamic.

Yeah, how she potentially takes information about Tessa is going to be critical for her. She always seemed to be VERY attached to Tessa, so much so that I imagine a lot of the animosity she shows towards N is driven by him being Tessa's favorite rather than her. I'm hoping that she's going to be able to accept reality, as horrifying and terrible as it is, and be part of the team.

V is revealed to be alive and it turns out Lizzy texted V to ask for backup and V comes in clutch. Possible secret ending???: The earthquakes caused by all the bs going on in the labs causes the oven filled with Disassembly drone cores to fall over and break, so all the cores regenerate and a whole army of DD appears. J is definitely gonna develop and learn to be less of an ultra loyal“Good soldiers follow orders” type of person. Also Doll could come back. The crucifixes are destroyed and unless Yeva is alive the only way to get the patch is to extract it from a patched drone. Doll inherited the patch from Yeva, so Doll’s core might get vomited out of Tesscyn or something idk.

Ahhhh YESS finally someone taking about the core jars! I found those really interesting because those are _characters_ in those jars, characters like Uzi, and J, and V and anyone else, who are just missing their entire bodies but are still present in a sense. I figured their introduction meant two things; 1) Introducing to the audience the affect of heat against the DD's. We already know the sun can kill the murder drones, but I don't think we've ever seen a DD become physically sluggish in the presence of extreme heat. And I just felt like Alice revealing that bit of info would come back around later in the show some way (unless it did and I'm forgetting it). 2) the potential of the rest of the trapped DD's to return as a sort of fight-off against Cyn. Like a major battle to release themselves from her control, or, on the contrary, could act as complete antagonists to the WDs, as they would be quite hungry I imagine. And, are all the cores in the jars DDs? Or are some of them like Nori, hosts of the absolute solver, of which we know are also affected by heat and light?

@@alsiredwood5642 I think regular drone cores just look like robot core thingies, and they can’t survive outside of the their drone body. Drones infected with the solver or converted into a disassembly drone have the weird flesh crab cores. Considering the fact that at the entrance to the facility in episode 6 we see tons of dismembered Disassembly Drone parts, It’s most likely all disassembly drone cores. After all, Alice said “This ain’t my first rodeo” implying she has killed many disassembly drones before.

Nori was partially patched, meaning she was disconnected from the solver hive-mind but could still be corrupted by the solver. Yeva was fully patched, on the computer “Tessa” blows up it says Yeva’s patch was successful and Nori was “In progress”. This means Doll inherited Yeva’s complete patch. That’s why Doll hasn’t grown wings or a tail and gone feral despite using the solver for way longer than Uzi has.

i mean, they made a trailer advertising the recent merch drop, including a plush of J, voiced over by J, after the latest episode shows us what we can assume to be a conflict or fight about to break out between J and the secondary characters, so perhaps, and it's a big perhaps, J might finally be able to have another moment to shine, a long awaited moment we haven't had since arguably Episode 5. she might finally have some reason to be there aside from just appearing as a cameo. but on the other side of that, it's J. by far the most underutilized character in the entire show, and so it could just repeat the cycle where J only appears for about a minute and a half and then vanishes like fathers off to get the milk, or even worse, they use the small amount of allocated J screentime to kill her off again for the finale, and if that were the case, i'm sure people like Vanitymoth would probably lose their minds. but hopefully they actually give J something, literally anything that isn't just standing there doing jack until the allocated time runs out and she disappears from the episode. otherwise they should have just kept her dead, there was literally no reason to bring her back if they aren't going to do anything with her.

It is concerning. I feel like a way that Glitch can do J justice, as well as Doll, believe it or not is by having it so that, in Episode 8, it’s maybe revealed that the humans built a failsafe into the patch where, if a core with the patch installed is eaten by the Solver, the drone can override the nearest Disassembly Drone and take over as its administrator and the Solver didn’t know that and it assumed that the patch would deny it access to certain hosts, and because Uzi has already taken over as N’s and V’s administrator, leaving J as the nearest Disassembly Drone, what remains of Doll ends up becoming J’s new administrator in the place of the Solver, and thus, if J lives, then Doll is still technically alive via her. It would allow Glitch to hit two birds with one stone, benefitting both J’s writing as well as Doll’s by giving both characters significance and a proper redemption at the same time, and considering how much they have in common, both being manipulated by the Solver and getting killed, as well as the failed the missions before said missions began, as well as the fact J could be considered the foil to N, and Doll being the foil to Uzi, it’d honestly make more sense if the finale sees J and Doll interacting with each other and having to get along.

ALSO, i don't see this brought up super often, but in episode 5 when J is breaking tessa out of her chains, the link from the chain flies off and directly hits a heart on a nearby dollhouse. like, the screen focuses specifically on the heart and the link. me personally i think it was more than just friendship between them. as mentioned, it's an animated series so this wasn't added just for funsies. just something i thought was worth mentioning. also, i really like hearing what you have to say about md! your theories are super interesting and your analyses are really like in-depth and reasonable. great video man :)

Uzi was able to break a wrench in one hand in episode 2 and in 3 she easily bent back the metal rods that Doll used to pin her down with. And in the very beginning of episode 1, during the exposition, we see images of the worker drones carrying entire mining carts filled with ore. I think it's just likely that the worker drones, and ESPECIALLY the disassembly drones, are extremely strong. And it makes sense since they were designed for manual labor.

I agree very well with this, especially with having Doll as a favourite character from the show. Ep 7 was a good episode, but the problem is, having my favourite character murdered in such a bad way made me pretty angry at the ep itself, it wasnt even the reason Doll died, its how she did- V got her own song when she died and a well made scnene with a fight before it...and Doll just died for no purpose, having more screentime (and lines) in ep 5 than 6 and 7 combined. However, J, is another character I really like and see alot of potential in. I really loved her in episode five, and if shes done like Doll it might be what makes way more dissapointed in this series, whic I'd hate because I love it

Here's a cool idea - J and the "no screen time squad" fight for a while, one's about to lose, but N comes out of the labs and stops the battle. He explains to J that Tessa is actually CYN and that V+Uzi are dead. Then they do a hacking session like ep.5, just N instead of Uzi as the admin this time, while the WD's protect them. They witness all the events without the interference of Crowzi and sort out why J dislikes N so much, making peace between each other. As a result, N frees her from CYN's control just like Uzi did with him and they, alongside V, the original DD trio, fight the solver with J leading the assault as their commander.

Personally I feel this is likely too. The Solver, despite being extraordinarily powerful, seems to get satisfaction from playing these games and manipulating the characters. Whether this is some sort of attachment towards the characters by Cyn influencing it or not it does seem to prefer manipulation over simple force when at all possible.

Ultimately we won't know until at least episode 8 and I'm just theorycrafting until then.

the revival of J was actually to not make a plothole in episode 2 since the whole episode was based around J getting rebuilt, and showing off the absolute solver and CYN's control on every robot, thus J not coming back would defeat the whole purpose of episode 2, and episode 2 is kinda big deal since in episode 6 it is still relevant and episode 7 (literally Nori coming back from the dead to show off that al robots have a heart, not just dissasembly drones), thus we know no matter what, V will be alive in one form and Uzi will stay alive

@@crosana01 a) it would make cyn's claim that it has backups false b) we see literally that J's core had something in it that flew away also another detail i didn't mention in episode 1 J says "we will make top team this quarter for sure", which implies that she believes that Earth is still around and making disasembly drones, and since J was the leader, she would be cloned for convinience, no reason to doubt someone would be replace J, and J was that one for multiple reasions

@@atackhelikopter4303 I'm not sure that was supposed to be something from inside J's core flying out but the core being reduced to that small black hole looking thing that fades away which, I personally feel is signifying that the core was destroyed. I think that while all the drones do have cores, only the ones infected with the Absolute Solver are able to survive without the rest of the drone body. However just because something isn't shown to happen that we know can happen doesn't mean it's a plot hole. The possibility is still there and that's ultimately what matters regardless of whether J actually did return or not.

@@crosana01 in episode 2, the absolute solver said "J's not here, we are trying to repair that host as per our directive" (yes, i checked episode 2 for this quote), and since CYN is controlled by the absolute solver and J was, and since the absolute solver said "we" instead of "I", that indicates that there are more entities working on rebuilding J, thus it would be stupid for J to not come back, as she would come back right then and there, or if she got rebuilt somewhere elsewhere, thus it would be a plot hole for J to not come back, there is too much evidence prior and after as to why she came back, and it kinda has a purpose, to show that all the robots are easily replaceable

@@atackhelikopter4303 I guess I just don't see how that would constitute a plot hole. It's entirely possible for J not to come back for a plethora of reasons that wouldn't qualify as a plot hole. It would be like calling the fact that Uzi doesn't actually go back to Earth to murder all humans a plot hole. It ultimately didn't happen because the plot went elsewhere. Or the disassembly drones needing to consume oil in order to not overheat. We don't see that happen after episode 1 (aside from V munching on an arm in episode 3) but that's because it simply happens off-screen. It doesn't need to be shown to us in order to not be a plot hole as long as it can happen plausibly off-screen. The same could have easily been true with J, just because there are other copies and the Solver was rebuilding J doesn't mean that J would need to reappear on Copper 9 after N destroyed J's core in episode 2. We know there are other J's, N's and V's out there and whether or not the Solver actually brought a new J to Copper 9 wouldn't change that. Would it be disappointing if that didn't happen? Yeah. Would it be a plot hole though? No. That's all I'm trying to say, just that a plot hole wouldn't be a good definition of J not reappearing.

This video sums up my feelings very well. Ive loved J since ep 1 and she has been my main motivator for even watching the show in the first place. Yeah i was dissapointed with her death in ep 1 but there it at least was a meaningful setup and she had some decent screentime prior to that. Then she had a cool ep 2. And then after she had nothing other then the brief flashback stuff in ep 5. Which honestly is the main reason why ep 5 is my favorite. For one it gives us maid J but 2 it gives us any J outside of ep 1. And thats sad. She was set up to be one of the "main characters" but then just got immedietly delegated to the punching bag of the show... Because of this my interest in this show has already severely declined to the point that i cant even muster up enough interest to watch ep 7...because ive just been to afraid that ill get dissapointed again by J not appearing. And it seems those fears were valid. And with what i learned here im not hopeful for episode 8 either....so likely will never finish watching it because i just couldnt bear seeing my most beloved character getting insulted and ridiculed in this way. So id rather stop at a moment where i can at least still fantasize about the things she couldve done to have her great debut and screentime rather then knowing the confirmed painful truth. I really hate that a show ive started to love has become a show im incredibly dissapointed in simply because of this....

I feel like a massive team-up between the worker drone trio, N, J, and almost 100% V is being built up though, Cyn is stupidly powerful and they're gonna need all the cards they can play to beat her. J dying to V would be way more justifiable than dying to the worker drones but it would still be pretty unsatisfying imo.

Honestly, I'd be fine with J dying in Ep 8, AS LONG of course it leads to either... A: J turns on Cyn after realizing she lied to her the whole time about why they're on the planet at all, playing a major factor in stopping Cyn's operation of destroying the planet, even sacrificing herself as a way to redeem herself from before, dying a noble death for the sake of the main cast. or B: J turns out to be loyal to Cyn the whole time, fighting to the bitter end against the likes of N, Uzi or even V in an epic swan song battle to the death. If J dies at the hands of Lizzy and/or Thad, I will be completely disgusted inside because neither of them should be even close to a match for J. Khan killing her I might be willing to overlook since it's obvious he's at least had some experience in this regard, but even that's a stretch considering how little we know about him being a solider, if he's one at all. While I'd prefer J to turn on Cyn in Ep 8 after learning the truth as a way to show character growth, I'm fine with J being evil too. I mean, she was in the pilot, so it's not that much of a stretch to say she'd be a villain again. My main concern is J going out on a high note, either as a villain or redeemed character. If the show cannot give us either scenarios, then J should have never been brought back at all. What was the point of J being brought back if she's going to possibly die pitifully? I seriously hope Liam Vickers will AT LEAST give us that much with J in the season finale. If not, then shame on him for wasting such a good character. Here's hoping he won't disappoint.

J is also my favourite character (alongside V) for... admittedly unknown reasons, so yeah, here's to hoping that she shines like a star in the finale. i definitely believe that she'll survive the incoming fight and find out about robozombie tessa, there's just too much setup for a moment like that to NOT happen. her reaction to such would be... ho boy, she would not take it well. but it would absolutely build character, and that's what we need! regardless tho, i trust liam and i'm sure he'll give us something that'll make us all happy (hopefully)

it’d be cool to see if J went down a path similar to the path Shadow (from the Sonic franchise) had. some similarities I want to point out between J & Tessa and Shadow & Maria: - Maria cared for humanity and her death was at the hands of GUN soldiers. Tessa cared for the drones and she died at the hands of a drone. - J’s only friend was a human girl who was like a mother figure/older sister to her. Same goes with Shadow with how he saw Maria.

And sometimes that's just the kind of person you need to lead a squad, someone who is egocentric, arrogant and blind by their delusions of competense, but loyal to the point that they will not step out of the line. Also J has the strongest personality out of the three to be a leader. N is a people pleaser, but just recently is learning to act and think on his own and V is the most competent, but besides the facade she puts, she is still the timid and insecure maid who does not mind to act from the sidelines, that creates just the right circumstances to someone like J to take lead role, despiste not being really suited for this. She's more like a "figurehead" or a "puppet leader" than a real example... I know this might sound a bit harsh, or that I'm a J hater, but I'm simply telling my perspecrive about her since my first watch of Morder Drones. She's popular, yes, but I really think people give her more credit than she deserves. She was never meant to be some badass robot who have a significant role... she's seems more like the arrogant, mean, jealous and self-important drone, whose only quality is to be the most loyal (to a fault, maybe), but looks down at the others without realizing that she's way less competent than she thinks... and maybe even this is the reason behind her mistreatment of N and Cyn. Anyway, I digress...

@@keld-qj9xi she's a pretty stand in tsundere or maybe even yandere if you think about it. And I'm convinced that she doesn't actually hate N. Shes just jealous and envious of him because he's Tessa's favorite when she wants to have that spot....so she "bullies" him to try and push him away from Tessa so she can become her favorite, but she still protects him because J likely knows that Tessa would be devastated if something were to happen to N. Plus perhaps she may get praise from Tessa for showing off that she's better then N. I'm convinced that of N wasn't tessas favorite and she'd instead show J more affection then J likely never would've been this icy and cold to N but treat him much more neutraly like she does with V, it also explains why she was annoyed about tessa bringing home cyn, a vulnerable one as it meant another rival for tessas care and affection in her eyes. And all that just makes her very likable to me, as she just wants to be praised and loved by the person she admires and is working hard to achieve that, but keeps the short stick because N exists.

about the "control" of other characters by Cyn, an interesting thought I had some days ago: Uzi's Absolute Solver "bugs" only when Cyn is in near proximity, like in ep4 (Uzi we saw Tessa/Cyn at the begining of the episode), ep6 & ep7, when Tessa/Cyn is really close. In ep5 no issue, Cyn is nowhere near.

Ive veen throwing out the theory that tessa was really cyn ever since i first wattched that episode. Because none of her behavior felt right to me. The sentinel attacking her, the sentinel being confused about her, the sentinel snapping after biting her, the fact that tessa didnt at all care about the fact that her fricking wrist just got bitten by a mecha dino and she even flaunters it around later to spray her blood around without any pain whatsoever. And her comment of basically "oh no you cant hurt me because i am HuMaN!" It all just screamed major red flag to me since the beginning

Let's just hope Liam Vickers does something amazing with J and possibly V, maybe find a way to make Doll come back (even if it sounds like a bad story decision) to complete their arcs in the story. And maybe, just maybe, there's some material for a second season. Think about it; what if they have J and Thad, Lizzy and Khan fight. And then V appears from a new landing pod thing and she and J fight, maybe along with Thad, Lizzy and Khan. Then the fight ends with them all finding a truce and decide to work together to find N, Uzi and Tessa. And then season 2 starts when V and J and the others decide to go to the ruined remains of the building in episode 6, dead sentinels everywhere, maybe a couple more still alive. The gang end up finding a hole that leads to the church in episode 7 and they enter it to find out that Tessa was actually Cyn wearing Tessa's skin, N is all scared and sad and stuff and Uzi is nowhere to be found. Maybe Lizzy is upset by what happened to Doll and they successfully put her back together and make her alive again, where she'll try to fight against V because of vengeance and stuff. J and maybe V would see Cyn wearing Tessa's skin and get traumatized, and then Cyn would teleport to a random area (or multiple) in Copper 9. They also find Yeva and other dead drones. So now Uzi and Nori are nowhere to be seen, N is basically traumatized because of the scary sight of Cyn wearing Tessa's skin and the thought that Uzi is dead, Doll is pissed and holds a giant grudge on V and shocked at the revelation that her mom is still alive, J (and maybe V as well) is traumatized and deeply sad about the revelation that Tessa is dead and that Cyn basically manipulated her with Tessa's corpse, ON TOP of the lingering threat of Copper 9 and potentially the universe being destroyed by Cyn. In the meantime, Uzi and potentially Nori would be attempting to go back to Copper 9, possibly without the fear of Cyn possessing her. There Uzi and Nori would talk and stuff. During these two different points throughout the entirety of season 2, N and Uzi could both undergo a character arc where they learn how to be independent of each other, which would then make them stronger. N, V, J and the gang would then go and find Uzi and Nori and save them, with the only thing now being to find Cyn and maybe kill her. They would go to various parts of Copper 9 that haven't been explored in the series yet. It could basically be a mystery arc where the gang would go to various parts of Copper 9, talking to some regular Worker Drones on the way, to find any information on where Cyn could possibly be. The finale could be the gang finding Cyn and going on an epic battle. They would fight and successfully kill Cyn or something and that would be the end (or it could go totally differently and have something happen where the only way to kill Cyn is to also kill Uzi and then J and N would be the one to kill her, being a callback to both in episode 1 where Uzi killed J, but this time J would kill Uzi, and a callback to episode 6 where Tessa tells N that he has to kill Uzi or else the entire universe could be destroyed, but this time it would be true)

Doll fan here, it was a huge bummer to lose Doll in Episode 7, I saw it coming so it didn't sting too bad but it still hurts... I'm holding out some hopes (through some wacky theories of my own) that she could return, perhaps by possessing Cynessa following being consumed but I guess we'll see... I do hope they do something nice with J, the only reason I don't like her is the writers don't do much with her character in the show. Here's hoping whatever they've got planned for Episode 8 will help her out

One thing you forgot to account for. SEASON TWOOOOOO! The J season. I’m personally hoping that N will fight J when he gets back to the surface. After whatever happens between Thad, Lizzy, Khan, and J, N returns to the surface and (while unlikely due to his character) I hope that he will take charge and tell J to take them to the pod to escape the planet (since he has the keys). J will resist because Tessa isn’t back yet, and she will try to take the keys from N. And while the battle in episode 7 is my favorite by far, I’m hoping that we get to see a fight where N goes all out and doesn’t worry about being kind and is just pissed.

Lizzy and Thad's voices also sounded different Glitch explained it as new Mics causing the voices to sound somewhat different. Also Shara Kirby hasn't voiced J in a while so it makes sense that the voice might change a little. It got mentioned in a QA behind the scenes video on their Twitter page.
