Genuinely amazing video, I got through the whole thing by the time I realized you weren’t already a huge channel, and that made it even better :)

Do not learn a programming language for months if you just need to know it for your game. It's best if you can also use that knowledge for your work outside of game development. Otherwise it's a complete waste of time. Do not start working on a bigger game project if you don't want to play it by yourself and only by yourself. Because chances are high that even your closest friends wont play it more than a couple of times at best. Don't expect that your game will even have more than 50 downloads. Most indie titles don't even reach that. Theres a 99% chance that NOBODY on the internet even notices your game in the first place. You are no exception, you are not better. Most devs put their heart, tears and sweat into their project of pure passion - over years - and still, 99% make not a single dollar. It's a very bad time to create games. It's a very good time to create games. Nothing has changed, the indie industry was always pure luck. Do not expect anything from it. Create games as a hobby. DO NOT QUIT YOUR CURRENT, STABLE JOB FOR IT!

I first clicked on the video because I saw the Godot icon, and I also use Godot, so I thought, why not check out the video? I ended up watching it and enjoyed it.

Yes, this is the new meta. Making money by offering courses and creating youtube videos about game development. It's also a very good way to market your game. Makes the community emotionally attached because you approve their struggle.
