Very confused, I know you did this in legion beta, but in live while in Highmountain I went from catching the Funky Sea Snail to killing the Drogbar. The Drogbar then dropped the Ancient Highmountain Salmon and gave me the achievement. Did they shorten the whole process or have they just moved the order around? Nvm, there's no particular order to it, I thought it was all a chain. Extremely pissed, was fishing in Azsuna, got the message in a beer bottle near the sea giants, got the axefish lure but the 2m buff never showed up.

I got my Underlight Angler tonight on my main shortly after reaching 110, and your guide was indispensable in doing so. Thank you! FYI, there is something going on with "Huge" pools in Legion, such as Huge Fever of Stormrays found in Stonescar Gorge (46.99, 61.71). It's a large pool such as the ones for fishing up Krakkanon in the Panderan Fish of the Day, but it doesn't yield any actual fish, only rare fish bait and many failed casts. I spent quite a lot of Arcane Lures in Stormheim to no avail until I found this pool, then I had the three rare baits relatively quickly. It looks like there are other Huge pools for other types of Legion fish on Wowhead but I've yet to see any of those in the wild. This might end up being a relatively efficient way of fishing up rare baits if implemented for all the types of fish.

Updates and confirmations since Legion beta: Rare bait is still tradeable. Rare fish are not (not that it would help you if they were anyway, as the achievement only counts fish you catch yourself, and you can only get artifact power from fish you catch yourself once you have the artifact). Undercurrent does indeed give you water walking (but not your mount; exception being the sandstone drake since you become that mount instead of merely riding it). Fishbane has indeed been replaced with "Way of the Flounder" which causes you to reduce your agro range by 5 years when fishing. Oodelfjisk pools and ghostly queenfish pools never despawn and never run out of fish; as long as your buff from the ancient vrykul ring/rusty queenfish brooch is still active, you can fish as many as you like. Thus one of the best ways to fish up more rare fish for artifact power. The underlight angler now raises fishing by +15 instead of +60 (not really a nerf; they just changed the way fishing skill works). To get the underlight angler now you just have to max out your legion fishing skill (100/100). Your adventuring level no longer seems to matter. The achivement "Fisherfriend of the Isles" unlocks two more custom appearances for this, red and green. You can permanently upgrade this (or any other fishing pole that matter) with another +6 to fishing with the Ancient Fishing Line, that drops off of Slithon the Lost in Mac'aree (near the City Center).

Anglers Fishing Raft is also helpful for walking on water to fish. The quest part after turning in the pearl is still bugging, done it twice, and both times Nat didn't show up until relogging.

Hunters can get to the island quite easily. Just go to the order hall Trueshot Lodge and grab a unique item off the ground near a nest called "Eagle Feather" that will stay in your inventory for 5 minutes consumed on use and it will allow you to glide over to the island saving you some time fishing since you can get it anytime you need it.

For anyone wanting to get the artifact: Ocean fish is super easy to get in Barracuda's pools, don't even waste time in doing it somewhere outside one of those. And try fishing it up in Suramar, there's a ton of pools together and it becomes easy. Don't waste 2hours on 2-3 fishes like I did :D

I started going after this thing on Thursday. It took longer because for some unknown reason I thought I had to be good friends with Margoss to get started, don't ask how I got that in my head. That being said, I started in earnest of Friday and had half of the fish done in a couple of hours. I started up on it again on Sat. 10/08/16 and got down to the last 2 by like 3am PST and still could NOT be the Toenail to pop. Just b4 I logged off I got it and I had forgotten that it pops the buff on when you get it and that the Murloc comes after it drops. Sooooo, I get back on this morning and run to Highmountain to get the Carp and lo and behold I got within 5 minutes. 1 fish to go and off to Azsuna I go. I run around the Illidari Strand and within 20 minutes(had a WQ to do in there first) the toenail pops, I remember this time to wait, and I got the Blenny. Long story short, I get the pole and I come back to the Strand and pop the brooch and an Arcane Lure and stand there and pull in Ghostly Queenfish by the buckets. I kept getting another brooch so I kept getting the rares. Doing this I got my pole leveled up 10 ranks past the Underlight Blessing. Those Ghostly Queensfish are the ticket to leveling to pole really fast. I pulled up about 80 of them in like 15 minutes.

The Underlight Angler is no longer in the Wowhead database (simply gives an 'item not found' error), so it seems to have been removed from the game files before launch.

Read the newest comments, as of 3/21/21 I've been attacked by a lot of Murlocs, Basalisks, Angry Sharks, Buffed by the Druid, etc. after throwing in the appropriate bait....I got nothing at all. Not sure what I'm missing. Watched this video twice and took notes. Logged out, then back in. The Arcane lure is most definitely NOT 100% chance for sure. And when something states "May attract..." it is a low chance (like 2-5% maybe?). Anyway, tanx for the vid M.S.S. as always your the Man! Edit: 7 1/2 Hours later; After removing the buff "Oversized Bobber" I didn't have anymore issues. Not for certain if anyone else has had similar problems, but it seemed to do the trick.

Only problem I found with the bait buff was if you get attacked it seems to fall off. I've also mounted and had it disappear. Although, the buffs only last 2 min. It's disappointing to fight a mob only to find you've lost the buff.
