It was beautiful to see how the sunlight on the wall behind John intensified as this talk progressed.

In another world this man’s name heralds the end times, the undivided one, the bringer of the end. Archaon the ever-chosen.

@@sandywhite9796 Hi, google Warhammer fantasy, "the undivided one" from a nerds pov is a reference to a character called Archaon the ever-chosen. alot of "lore" from warhammer is loosly based on religious teachings, and if you listen to what John is saying its awefully close to the language used in the warhammer setting. 🙂

Great voice to listen to and undoubtedly a sweet guy but his theological grasp is more a collective of mystical jabberwocky salads than any philosophical understanding. This or that from here and there. I’m glad he’s at peace though.
@darrylschultz93953 ай бұрын
Who cares if some self-appointed experts on all things philosophical consider his talks wouldn't meet the supposedly lofty standards of those deemed to be the philosophical masters(you know who I mean-those other graspers for the elusive truth of things that are more acceptable to the refined taste of the establishment)? The comments section under his many videos show that there's a lot of people that benefit greatly from watching his talks. Which far outweighs any perceived shortcomings that are anyway, no more than the guesses and thoughts of those whose preference I strongly suspect is based mostly on what they believe best lends them the appearance of having wisdom.🤨

He talks about something very important that most of us don’t grasp until very late. Repentance - which is not the same as forgiveness. Forgiveness is what is that most beautiful affordance given unto us by His everlasting Love and Grace. But… you must Repent. You must change. He is only using his own perspectives to essentially say the same things that the Bible says. Those who value this life (those who wish to save his life will lose it…) are seeking evil. The “god” of this world is that old serpent, the father of all lies and he seeks to ensnare us all. And he succeeds with most, yes even Christians. Outward shows inward -> How will you know them? By their fruit. My brother has been “big” into studying the Bible and being a Christian but he knows not even the first 2 lines of the Lords Prayer. He does the song and dance for the benefits it affords him. It has been a narrow road since we left Eden and history consistently proves that.
@Mushisamurai6 ай бұрын
You mentioned history and Eden in the same sentence which is contradictory because the garden of Eden never actually existed. Unless you meant it as a metaphor that is
@Peter-vn5jq9 ай бұрын
Just so you guys are aware- this isn't really Christian theology or dogma. Nothing against the man, but the Church teaches that God is singular, and separate from Creation. Mr Butler seems to espouse a more Eastern kind of spirituality, a simplified advaita vedanta with some Christian elements.
@Little_Clips1019 ай бұрын

@truthwithjalani70829 ай бұрын
Eh. Christianity maybe but Christ himself spoke of the oneness one can experience once accepting him where you become one with him and the father in love

@Ch0tan8 ай бұрын
Ever since ancient times, there hasn't been one christianity but christianities. If one is going to label this as anything it would be closer to christian mysticism which tends to emphasize direct experience over belief and dogma and an element within mystical traditions is the proclamation that you and god are ultimately one and the same which is the not-twoness or nonseparation that is everything. This isn't a proclamation exclusive to advaita vedanda or any other traditions of the east. It's an element within the mystical branches of religions worldwide.

@darrylschultz93953 ай бұрын
Nah, those smacks are all part of the "old man" package. And when we all know it's the old guys that have the true wisdom, anything that adds to the "old man" feel of the talks should be welcomed.

@@ATFsteinThe only mystery I can think of is, why wouldn't the fact that the people that produce these videos have continued to persuade him to keep making them during the last 7 years, be recognised as being a strong indication that he really must have something worthwhile to say(but some just don't get it)-rather than that he's actually speaking rubbish?
