The employment boost should be treated with a degree of suspicion , a friend , a teacher ,has been put on half time work ,to be shared with another teacher , this is registered as two employees .

Unemployment is a cultural thing too here in Spain. Many people genuinely choose not to work and some are very particulate about what kind of job they want or willing to do. The increased cost of living forced some of these people back to work. Also, all those "terrible" immigrants... Most of them actually come here to get a job and live a comfortable life. That increases overall employment rates too. Don't get me wrong, the economy is way behind some of the northern European countries and opportunities are limited in certain industries; however, just wanted to put it out there, I think it's also a cultural thing...

One of my best friends grew up in Gib. She is completely bilingual. They always went to Sotogrande in the summer. All young Gibraltarians are entitled to have their uni fees paid to study in the UK. I also found La Línea depressing when we went to Gib

I wasn't aware of some employment being that way, 'contract' and how it was explained by Mark. I wonder if that was a part of the numbers now.

Gibraltar's airport was built on the Gibraltar's istmus. A land not included in the Utretch Treaty of 1714. It was a soil temporarily lent by the Spanish authoritires to the British so they could quarantine sick people during a yellow fever epidemic in the XIX century. The Brits never gave that land back, ilegally built a fence (the one they one to pull down nowadays) and occupied the territory. During WWII they built the airport. It is built on Spanish soil ilegally grabbed by the rogue state called the UK. It is OURS. We shall take it back.

If they completely outlawed squatting and allowed immediate eviction for non-payment of rent then all the housing crisis would be solved, the market would be flooded with available rentals

Smoke and mirrors. How can the government boast about a low Paro rate when so many people are relegated to part time work?

They didn't beat anything. Their youth left and fled North for jobs, and Spain was flooded with 3rd world migrants willing to work for less. Hence the increase in crime and poverty.

You mean migratión is a problem when the truth is that it is the story of the world itself.

So basically you are saying poverty=crime. Lots of poor migrants work in Spain honestly.

No its not. Its proven dat Spain economy has expanded, unlike other Euro countries, who had a decline in 2024. "MADRID, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Spain's economy expanded by 3.2% in 2024, outstripping official forecasts and far outperforming its euro zone peers, preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute showed on Wednesday. The Spanish government expects to raise its forecast for this year from 2.4% following the stronger-than-expected performance, which was buoyed by a tourism boom as well as a strong output in agriculture and higher exports." For 2025, its expected that the Spanish economy will slightly rate to 2.3%. This is nevertheless a high rate and well above the 1.3% expected for the euro area.

While I do understand your worries about the economy it also needs to be said that we’re living in an era where the internet has opened up countless opportunities for people to create their own paths and make a living online. For example, many people worldwide are now earning a living through freelancing, remote work, or starting their own online businesses. Additionally, the rise of social media and content creation has enabled people to build careers as influencers, KZbinrs, or podcasters. So the key is to take initiative and leverage the tools available online. In this era, people worldwide are creating their own opportunities instead of waiting for governments or traditional employers to provide them. With the right mindset and effort, you can tap into this global economy and build a sustainable income for yourself.
