Honestly, love this LTDX from Cobra. Went in for a fitting yesterday with no particular driver in mind. Hit all the normal culprits, the stealth, rogue, tsi, g425 etc but this one stood out like a sore thumb stats wise. It was a clear winner - even out hitting the stealth by 15 yards! I must say when I went into the fitting I was not expecting to leave with a Cobra however couldn't be more happy with it - it felt effortless to hit and its forgiving as anything. Now the 10 day wait before being able to get it out on the course!

I am a Cobra fan. I've been using a Fmax driver and a Cobra 5 wood for a few years now and I love them both. The two most consistent clubs in my bags. I was on the driving range one day and the Cobra rep was setting up for a demo just behind me. He offered to let me try one of his drivers. I was using a Fat Boy at the time and I said no because I would like it too much and it was $600 CDN and out of my price range . I tried it anyways and hit the best drive of my life with it. I gave it back mumbling under my breath and said it was too much money for my budget. He gave me the Fmax and said it was $200 less, still much more money than I had ever spent on golf equipment. Being polite, I tried it and again- bam right down the middle! I grumbled again as I gave the club back to him and ordered on the next day. He was a good salesman. No sales pitch or come on. He just let the clubs do the talking. I still love that driver!

@Ll L A high percentage of golf is all in the head. If the club I'm using doesn't look right behind the ball before I'm about to swing, then it doesn't give me any confidence that I will strike it well. Also if I'm going to spend that much money on something, I expect it to look good as well. Besides, all these drivers are very similar in performance anyway, so price and looks are the natural steps in deciding what you want.

I bought a full set off Cobra F9 clubs in 2019. I sold most of them, but kept the 5-6 Wood and 3 Hybrid single length. My swing speed ( 90 mph) was not enough to hit the 3 Wood off the deck , even at 16.5 degrees. I was not consistent enough to hit the Driver in the centre of the face. Three years later after learning from Marcus Edblad on You Tube, I tried the F9 again and was amazed how much it had improved! In the meantime , I used a higher lofted ( 12 degree) Cleveland HB Turbo to tame my slice/ push fades and now game the Cleveland XL Launcher ( set at 10.5) and have gained about 10 m total distance. For me that 10 m means I am hitting an iron into the greens, not a hybrid. While that is important, the greater score reducer is keeping the ball in play off the tee. 4 metres longer would not make me buy a newer model, if I was already hitting fairways at a reasonable distance .

Txg did one of speed zone vs rad speed Conclusions were the speed zone is very good when we’ll struck but loses a lot of speed when hit low or high. The rad speed corrected that. So it’s a very hot low spin driver with forgiveness on bad hits. As far as rad speed vs ltd well I’m sure those will be coming soon. But I think last year what we saw was that every big manufacturer is putting out a quality driver. The race is so close now that it’s not about which driver is better but which driver suits YOU better. Driver heads are now the same like shafts imo. Gotta find the right combo. …… For example look at the new stealth from taylormade. Can we objectively say it’s better than the sim 2 ? No it’s not, it’s not faster it doesn’t seem to be more forgiving. It’s just different. And maybe it suits your better but maybe not. I have been playing a 2016 m2 driver. I think it’s finally time for an upgrade. There wasn’t much of a jump the past 2-3 years

Rick, please allow me to first state that I have followed your reviews for years and your channel is the only one I've ever Subscribed to on any subject. As far as I'm concerned, in this particular golf gendre, you are the best. Now, that said, I'd like to state that the game of golf does not need "longer drivers" irons or balls. The best golfers in the world are now saying that. The game does not need to be "LONGER", period. If you disagree, then, I ask you, for what reasons do equipment and ball manufacturers need to be pushing distance? For the average golfer, it's nothing more than a gimmick. Are we soon going to be seeing the 500-yard drive and the 10,000 yard golf course? Your reviews are not for the Bubba Watson's, Mikelson's, Dechambeau's, or Rory's out there in KZbin land, they are suited for the millions of "other than pro" golfers that flood municipal courses worldwide every day, and they don't give a flip or wish to pay the outrageous price for a driver that hits a ball 3yards further when hit by a muscle-bound distance freak like Bryson, when the average weekend golfer is turning in scores in the 90's. Weekend duffers are the most numerous of all golfers and are the ones purchasing most of the equipment sold. As you very well know, the golf equipment advertisement world is full of lies about what equipment will do to improve your game. They are doing nothing more than taking advantage of the naivety of those that want just to shoot better golf. I'd love to see all of these KZbin reviews and instructional videos drop the fascination with distance every time a new club comes out, and stick to teaching technique, ball striking, and emphasizing how this new piece of equipment might integrate into your game along with lessons, practice, practice, practice, mixed in with a little more practice and drop the distance pitch. That's the main lesson that needs to be taken away from a golf video.

I frankly love the look of this driver. It beats both the Stealth and the Rogue, and it is at least $80 cheaper in the US. I would like to know about the durability of these drivers. If the face flexes with each hit, there should be some issues after a period of time. If you are an amateur who plays often, should you consider replacing an older driver? I have had amateur friends crack the faces of their drivers.
@two_toned_rooster2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been working on getting my speed up to try long drive over the last couple years and I find that longevity really depends on speed. If your someone who swings sub 100mph you should be able to get a good 3+ seasons if you take care of your driver (use the headcover always, limit sky balls, clean your ball and club, don’t leave your clubs in the car, storing in a shed when it’s -40 outside). I used to get 2-3 years before I started to break a driver down in that speed range. But now that I’m 127mph on an average day and can reach into the high 130’s on the range I only make a few months with a driver before I start breaking the head down. My last driver was a Callaway epic max ls and right above the face started to wrinkle after 3 months and I did the same to a titleist 917 and ts3 before that.

That's why I am really interested in the TM Stealth. Curious to see a year from now how those hold up. Older TM offerings, I'd end up getting flat spots in quick order. My current Callaway Epic Flash SZ has held up well though.
@LTR14202 жыл бұрын
@@two_toned_rooster a lot of that depends on how often you play too. I swing it around 120, but I've never had a problem breaking faces. That's because I'm lucky if I play once a week. If you're consistently hitting balls and playing regularly, you probably won't get as much life out of it.
@two_toned_rooster2 жыл бұрын
@@LTR1420 yes that does make a difference too. I live on a golf course with nice covered practice facilities so unless I’m working super late I hit 100 range balls a day, plus 18 holes, and usually it’s twice a day on days off. I am known to go to the range with just driver for a couple hours too, so all that considered I am a bit of an extreme case 😂 Edit: the 18 holes are if I have time. Usually it’s either just 9 or just range when I’m working. Still a ton of golf though.
@two_toned_rooster2 жыл бұрын
@@The_KZbin_Critic I’ve got a stealth ordered, it will be interesting to see how it holds up. Also ordered a pxg 0811xt the other day, couldn’t resist a good low loft driver for $375 for just incase I turn the stealth inside out in a month.

So the question is… do you go Cobra F9 for about £150 ($190) or brand spanking new LTD for £399 ($500)? I don’t think Rick mentioned the price… Granted it’s still cheaper than TM Stealth and Callaway Rouge

I have F9, new drivers by all brands look amazing. But, like Rick said, for the sound, feel, and performance of the F9 can you really justify spending $450-500 for 3-5 yards of carry. For me no, F9 until it breaks.

After not playing for 6 years due to issue with back dusted off the clubs and had a few rounds, driving around 200-220 compared to in the past 250-270, went to try a new driver after talking to golf pro about it and he mentioned stealth, after hitting about 120 balls ended up with the ltdx was averaging 260-275 and with the draw weight in the heel was hitting them straighter even when I was just getting underneath them slightly was still hitting it 220, which is around where my good drives are just now. Best driver I've owned.

I bought a Cobra F9 2 years ago because of your recommendation. I made a shaft change a few months ago, and it is the longest driver I have ever hit. I have stacked it up on trackman against all the big dogs, including Stealth, Stealth plus, Triple diamond LS, Rad Speed, G425 max and LST, Sim2 and Sim2 Max, Epic Speed and Epic Max LS. The Cobra F9 didn't just beat all of them for me, but as someone that averages 118 Club head speed, it was by far the most efficient, averaging a 1.49 smash factor, Averaged the longest carry and total distance, and by far, by 5 mph, the fastest ball speed. Second place still stands as the Cobra Radspeed right now, Rouge Triple diamond in third. I haven't gotten my hands on the new Cobra yet. If your testing is telling me anything though, I might finally have a driver that can pull me away from my beloved F9.

I play the F9 driver. I agree with you that it is one of the best drivers ever made, and I have tried most of them in the last thirty years. Does five yards make it worthwhile to trade in a trusted and reliable friend? I think not! But...nine or ten yards would put me over to a newer Cobra model. I love your videos because you are so real, so honest, and trustworthy. I am a big fan.

Tried these today. Was tossing up between the ltdx and ping g425 max. Really liked both and was hard to split them. Then the guy at the shop walked off and I grabbed the Ltd low soon version thinking I still had the max.... paired 3 in a row straight up the middle 320 yards 30 yards longer then anything I hit with the other two. Just my experience. I’ll be getting the LTDx despite how much I loved the low spin version just because I want the forgiveness.

Rick, I really enjoy your videos. They are both entertaining and informative. There is something that is strange to me and that is how you and Matt put so much importance on looks and sound. To me the performance is really the only thing that matters to me. I don’t care what they look like if they can take strokes off my score. I’m not a great golfer, just a mid handicap once a week guy if my schedule allows. I can’t think of anyone I have played with has ever discussed the looks or sound of any clubs. Perhaps it’s a Great Britain thing, or you guys are so good, it’s where you focus on the looks of a club. I’m not putting you guys down and please don’t take it that way. Keep the awesome videos coming! Tim from Macon, GA USA

I've got an F9 driver and 3 wood in the bag. No surprise that marketing is marketing, not just with cobra but with golf manufacturers as a whole. While yes there are small subtle differences year over year, for 95% of golfers it really won't make much of a difference. As a 4 handicap I can usually tend to feel those little differences on the launch monitor but I really only like to make a change when something really big happens or my grooves are starting to wear down. (Thought maybe the carbon face on the stealth might be a 'big' change but it's not there yet) It looks like my F9s are going to stay in the bag another year. It's Still the best driver I've ever tested. Thanks for another great review and video Rick!

Just bought one this morning. Bit of an upgrade from my G5 and if the numbers on the range are anything to go by it should be a big difference! Agree with the forgiveness though, even my bad hits only lost about 15-20 yards versus 30-40 yards with my old driver. (13 handicapper). Total average distance gain was 35 yards.
