God bless you Brother Sweat for your studies of the scriptures, the Gospel and Church History. You have presented the rise and fall of Zion in the perspective of why it didn't work out and why. And how Brother Joseph envisioned it as the Lord had so inspired him. Those early Saints were human and had failings as we do today. You've inspired us to double down on preparation for becoming people of Zion. Thank you for your spiritually and studies of the Doctrine and Covenants.

I found your explanation of why the saints were ordered to leave Missouri enlightening, finally. I have often wondered why the Lord sent them there just to be persecuted and ordered to leave. Now I know. I always learn so much from your presentations. Thank you.

The first thing they did wrong was not listen . They were not to all go there . They were to have tickets and go in groups .. not all at once .

Thank you. I hadn’t thought of it before of how Missouri residents felt of saints moving in and changing the political/social environment. Many of us feel threatened with Californians and others moving into our state for fear they will out vote us and alter our way of life.

Very informative and spoken clearly. I love the enclosed quotes, especially President Joseph Fielding Smith identifying 4 stages of earth's existence. Thank you.

Joseph Fielding Smith questioned “are we justified in applying [the remnant] to the Lamanites and saying that they are to go forth as a young lion pouring out vengeance upon the gentiles? Also does the phrase, ‘Ye who are a remnant of the house of Jacob’ in verse 16, have reference just to the Lamanites? The verses which follow indicate that it has reference to the remnants of Israel which had been scattered in all lands. To apply it to the Lamanites in face of theme of this discourse, in my judgment, narrows it too greatly.” (Doctrines of Salvation, 2:249-250) Quote from Elder Bruce R. McConkie"An occasional whiff of nonsense goes around the Church acclaiming that the Lamanites will build the temple in the New Jerusalem and that Ephraim and others will come to their assistance. This illusion is born of an inordinate love for Father Lehi's children and of a desire to see them all become now as Samuel the Lamanite once was. The Book of Mormon passages upon which it is thought to rest have reference not to the Lamanites but to the whole house of Israel. The temple in Jackson County will be built by Ephraim, meaning the Church as it is now constituted; this is where the keys of temple building are vested, and it will be to this Ephraim that all the other tribes will come in due course to receive their temple blessings."(Bruce R. McConkie, A New Witness, p. 519)

24 temples were planed, for each tribe 2.

I would be interested on hearing an elaboration of these 24 temples/sacred buildings...
@arnicaringelblume29423 жыл бұрын
@@carolbennett3488 It doesn't come in my mind right now, where I read it recently. I looked up in the "Visions of Glory" page 186. But there its talking about one center temple and then 12 temples around - for each tribe. And then some more. Sorry!

Doesn’t “Nobleman” probably signify Joseph Jr.? It was his idea and he told his servants to go build tower then when they complained someone came and burned it down. Do we know who the people were? Dod anyone witness this?

Where is the video footage from?

Most of the video footage we use is from the PBS documentary 'American Prophet' and the Church's movie 'Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration'.

It should be called rise and fall for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joseph Smith restored it. Brigham Young and his cronies tore the part.
