As promised in the video, here is an exhaustive list of other interesting points that I simply couldn't include in the run-time. We sincerely hope you enjoy! Other Suspects: Lizzie was definitely not the only suspect the police looked at. Two Portuguese men considered suspicious were arrested the day of the murders, and John Morse was actually their initial suspect. Mike solder by benjamin handy. Other neighbours did report noticing suspicious characters around the Borden house, including noises coming from their fence the night before, a young man loitering by the North gate and a pale young man slowly walking by. None of these claims were substantiated. Dr Bowen has been noted as somewhat suspicious. He very awkwardly burned a note in the Borden stove, which he described as "nothing" or some news about his own daughter going somewhere. Policemen at the scene also reported him telling them that Abby had fainted or died of fright upstairs rather than having been brutally attacked. He may have been experiencing shock himself, and later stated during the trial that he'd said no such thing. The weapon: There was another hatchet, this one found on a neighbour’s barn roof, only found a few days before the trial ended, nearly a whole year after the murders. Although it did apparently contain gilt, this one seems to have never been analysed for blood and remains missing to this day. Sickness/Poison: Lizzie supposedly was sick like her parents two days prior to their deaths, but no one could definitevely say this was true, as she seemingly avoided Dr Bowen when he visited the household. There was a sting operation where the wife of a state police inspector was visiting pharmacies to see if they would provide poison without prescription. Some believed that this may have been who visited Eli Bence's pharmacy, but similarities between their physical appearances have been highly disputed. Burglary: There was also a burglary that occurred not long before the murders, where the only things stolen were horse car tickets, some money and some of Mrs Borden’s belongings. This happened while the elder Bordens were away at the time but the rest of the occupants were at home. Even more suspiciously, Andrew supposedly insisted the police close the case three times, which may imply that the perpetrator would have been known to him (whether that's Lizzie specifically or not). The Weather: The day was not as hot as people make it out to be, it being 79 degrees Fahrenheit/26 Celsius at the time of the murders, not accounting for humidity. Perhaps not the ideal temperature to hang out in a barn for super long, but also it doesn’t make it necessarily impossible. The Dress: During the trial, the family Doctor's wife, Mrs Bowen, did say the dress Lizzie was wearing on that day looked like the dress that she'd later burn, but in an earlier proceeding, she had identified the murder day dress as a white dress with a waist with blue material, so her testimony wasn’t particularly strong. Inspector Patrick Doherty's testimony of her outfit was also a struggle, as he was color blind. Again, testimonies of her outfit are a complete mess. Post-Trial: In 1897, Lizzie would be accused of stealing two paintings. Though the outcome of this is inconclusive as no warrant was ever served against her, this does connect to the reputation she'd gain after the murders, as a shoplifter so addicted to crime that storeowners literally kept tabs on her "expenditures" and would charge it to her father. Another crazy rumour circulated post-trial was that Lizzie had, as a child, had butchered her maternal cousin's cat. Again, no proof of this one either, though it did come from said cousin herself. The newspaper interview by the Fall River Daily Globe where Emma spouted Lizzie's innocence has been questioned. In fact, it was questioned by the Fall River Evening Herald the very day after it was published, who published that a family member to the journalist in question had said it was not an authentic interview. As Emma never spoke out against either article, we just can't be completely sure.

Somebody Will Do Something is one of those songs that's so good that I wish I could wipe my memory to listen to it for the first time again. The adrenaline rush I feel during "father will be napping, HE'LL WISH HE'D HAD THAT SON" could move mountains

YES! I LOVE THIS SHOW! ITS SO UNDERRATED! If you look at the lyrics, there's some POWERFUL meanings in it. The way "Shattercane and Velvet Grass" sounds and reads like a with creating a potion in front of a cauldron relates to Lizzie getting the idea to use the specific kind of acid. In "if You Knew" and "Will You Stay", the amount of devotion and almost admiration Alice has for Lizzie bounces off the page. I really wish this show would get more love.

I got to play Alice in a production last October, and it always struck me how beautiful and tragic it was that Alice immediately enters after This is Not Love. Like, what you're looking for is right there Lizzie, trying to help you.

Funnily enough, "Shattercane & Velvet Grass" has been on repeat in my head/in my Spotify since the early summer. Serendipity!

Now this is too funny! I was just binging some Staged Right videos, and I was thinking to myself, "I haven't watched The Drama Dorks in a minute. Even if they haven't uploaded a new video in awhile, their videos are entertaining and informative enough that I can just re-watch them over and over and not get bored!" so I opened a new tab on KZbin, opened up my notifications, and lo and behold! A new Drama Dorks video ready to be watched! 🤣 I can easily say that I had no clue about the existence of a Lizzie Borden musical-- let alone one that was set to be staged like Six but before Six! But I am absolutely ready to get into this video and learn the things that you guys learned about its history!!

i haven't read deeply into the case but Lizzie seems the most likely suspect, but i think there not enough evidence that it was her to find her guilty

I think she’s guilty in reality, but not by a reasonable doubt! The jury got it right! Unfortunately
