The Unholy follows Alice, a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. Ok so now that I've seen the movie, here's what you need to know. The concept and plot is original and unique and it has the makings of a great movie within the spiritual horror genre. However, the acting and direction are abhorrent. Overall, I'm glad I watched it, but it could have been so much better with a bit more effort on the part of the actors and director. JDM was especially disappointing because I know he can do better than this. Again, it's worth a watch, but it falls short of it's potential. ETA: Know also that I have high standards. The average viewer may not agree.

Saw this movie while cooking dinner for my dad and I nearly burned dinner. This movie was awesome., I could not stop watching it. The trailer could have been a minute shorter, but it does not spoil as much of the movie as it seems. It's actually lacking a lot of context which make the scenes better. It only really spoils as much as the title does. That being said I would have probably gone with a different title.

We just watched last night and please guys don't watch the trailer or just peek on few seconds. I just read the comments how good this movie and I really thank them for saying it.. I really love this movie! It's not the usual horror or religious/ suspense thriller movie. There's a good plot of the story, and how this movie shows you what evil does and choosing where to place your faith. You won't regret watching it if youre not a fan of common Horror movies with common plots and predicted ways to scare.
