A normally unreliable air cooled 911 that cannot be daily driven without parts breaking left and right with over heating issues sitting in traffic. Then put in a modern water cooled very reliable Japanese engine. That’s genius. I would buy one made like that over a traditional air cooled 911. I like to drive and not have my cars sitting in a garage.

@sprawlnod81177 жыл бұрын
Help me understand this because I clicked on the vid just to find out what a "K series" was (not flamin' - just clueless about honda engines). I know it is a civic/accord/integra 4-cyl. VTEC engine with some turbos. But, why would someone want it in a 911? I know it doesn't compete with a porsche turbo engine that has had a comparable amount of work/tuning put into it . . . Is it for people who really like these engines and want to try it on a better chasis? Is it because the owner builds VTECs and did it because it was in his wheelhouse? I've seen LS engines in 911s and that kind of makes sense because you can get similar performance from an American small-block that is much cheaper to build. Is it same here? (I don't see how a 2 liter 4-cyl can get there)
@daneyan19855 жыл бұрын
sprawl nod there are plenty of k series motors well over the 1000 hp mark, so why not? They’re maybe 1/5 of the cost of a Porsche motor build , decently reliable when built correctly and tuned properly, and some people just like and want to be different.

hmm :/ I loved the engine of my Honda S2000, screeming @ 9000 rpm. I also loved my Porsche 930S with the 330hp 3.3 flat-six. Your car will without a doubt have more power, and less turbo-lag :p but it just seems not right to rip an original flat-6 out of a Porsche and replace it with a Honda 4-cil :S
