I did this piece with my choir in college 15 years ago. We had dancers when we performed it, but nothing close to the production and skill of the performers in this. Really nice to see and hear the piece in its entirety, so thank you for uploading it!

This is one of my favourite of Menottis. But it's the only work of his, I didn't like at all at first hearing. It was a long way. But step after step, I fell in love more and more. I had to read the text without hearing the music. It is genuine poetry. Then came the instrumental parts, then the madrigals. And now I love this work as all others by Menotti, and it has, moreover, a special place in my heart, because I had to struggle with the "Unicorn". What a marvellous composer and poet Menotti was. One cannot overrate him! And the performance is marvellous. It's in the poetic vein of the Sixties-TV. I like it! Thank you so much for the upload!

Terrific. I have a recording of this but it was not one of my favorites. Enjoy it much more, not surprisingly, with the staging. Thanks for posting.
