I'm from Michigan, and I have worked union jobs almost all my life. Starting as a union custodian at Cranbrook schools. Getting my commercial driver's license b, and becoming a proud Teamster! As a blue collar worker with no hope of going to college, I was paid enough to live in a decent neighborhood and drive a decent beater 😆 and have a decent retirement. That's all we are asking for. To make enough to be decent.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - - - Biden’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Budget will be released this coming Monday, March 11 (35 days late). While we wait, the House Budget Committee is analyzing data from last year’s budget and its impact on federal spending: By the Numbers: The President’s FY2024 budget proposed the highest sustained levels of spending in U.S. history: $82.2 trillion in spending over ten years, eclipsing 24.8% of GDP. This is $21 trillion higher than the pre-Biden CBO projection. As a share of the economy, this is 18% more spending than the historical average of the past half century (21.1%).

Unions in NY are supporting Trump. Wake up, the democrats have let Unions get beat by big corps. They do not care for the rank and file. Trump does and will work to get industry restarted in the US. This industry will be operated by union workers and will form the backbone of a new, expanding Union movement. The democrats have let the Unions shrink.

After we lost our health insurance in an apprenticeship, state health eventually sent me some papers with doctors names and phone numbers who I had to call to ask if they would accept the state health service plan. Just about all of them said no. I checked off the names and mailed it back and state health still made me wait another year to accept me. The IRS charged me for not being insured. Had one hell of an electrical burn on my leg and a very sore back. I guess the other apprentices weren't kidding when they said getting vested was the only way to get the insurance they offered. I vaguely remember another apprentice who got sick crying 'why are they doing this to us'? Of course the instructor said there's no crying in construction. Happened over a decade ago now. Vote for hope the green energy contracts will go through and apprentices will get to go to work. Hope that you will get to keep your health plan.

ZERO facts - - - Defining “fair share” would require Democrats to face the fact that the top 1 percent of income earners paid 45.8 percent of all income taxes in 2021, despite earning just 26.3 percent of all income, and paid an average tax rate of 25.9 percent (IRS SOI Stats, Table 4.3, tax year 2021). By comparison, the bottom 50 percent of income earners paid just 2.3 percent of all income taxes, despite earning 10.3 percent of all income, and paid an average tax rate of just 3.3 percent. In other words, the top 1 percent’s share of taxes is almost twice their share of income, while the bottom 50 percent’s share of taxes is only 1/5 of their share of income. Which individuals aren’t paying their fair share, Mr. President? Defining “fair share” would also require Democrats to explain how many times income should be taxed. Taxes on corporate income are paid by workers through lower wages, individuals through higher prices, and shareholders through lower returns - each of whom are also responsible for paying individual income taxes, including on income that was previously taxed at the corporate level. Should a small business owner similarly be taxed on his business profits only to then be taxed at the individual level on those after-tax profits < > BUDGET COMMITTEE

I'm from the Flint area too. It's not "Fords"... It's "Ford's", as in "Ford's car company". On another note, the strategy Fain followed in the strike against GM, only striking bottleneck factories, is essentially the same strategy Reuther followed during the Sit-Down strike. GM was able to hold out after workers took over Fisher I, but when they took over the engine plant at "Chevy in the Hole" that deprived GM of one of their main engine factories and forced them to shut down production nation wide. That's when GM caved. Over the years I met some of the men who were active in the strike. GM was on high alert after Fisher was taken over and they explained all the strategy and subterfuge they had to engage in to take over the engine plant. It was fascinating stuff.

As a more right leaning individual who was curious to hear the Left's view, I have a few thoughts 1) There are plenty of points I disagree with the assessment and answer to the issues being presented. BUT there are a just as many if not more points I agree with and can see a middle ground for agreement. 2) Left and Right use the same rhetoric. "It was better back when _______ was president and ________ happened. And you young folk should be unhappy that it isn't like that anymore." Everyone is unhappy, and wants to blame the other side, while my assessment is politicians from both sides are the issue as they push policies and laws that benefit themselves and their circle and hurt the everyday American, but this gets ignored since we're too busy pointing fingers at each other. 3) The comment about barring Trump from taking any action due to majority in congress is despicable, and the same can be said for if the same happened with Republicans against Biden. This right here is the reason we have issues and conflict in our nation. We are too busy trying to fight and bludgeon each other to death politically that we don't actually push forward any actual helpful laws or policies. Meanwhile greedy politicians push for stupid laws and bills that benefit themselves and others since giving money to themselves is something both sides can easily agree upon. If people actually had and wanted discourse more could be achieved even if not perfect or exactly what each side wanted, but instead we get into petty squabbles and bully each other into submission I hope people start to see left and right agree on more than what is presented by commentators and media, and that if we stop trying to shoot ourselves in the foot after every election we'd actually be able accomplish more than just pissing matches in Congress

The irony of the unions, it makes me crazy because our so-called politicians in Washington. They all enjoyed , at least the old guys.. they all enjoyed these exact benefits that you were talking about like free schools , they went to college well not all, but probably most of them and they didn’t have student debt so I mean this is something they should be proud to offer to the younger generation but in my opinion greed -greed , gets in the way I guess they love money more than anything else and that’s sad. when I grew up there were unions everywhere I worked union jobs and I’m glad I did .I support them 100% unfortunately we need to teach the youth of this country the value of unions. The reason they probably don’t support unions is because they have no clue … the concept of unions doesn’t exist in their world… unless their parents and grandparents educate them on the issue… LETS EDUCATE OUR YOUTH .!!!

The Democratic and Republican political parties: Two wings of the same bird of prey.
@jryecart80176 ай бұрын
thanks for the CRT NO FACTS fallacy - - - The Democrat Party was founded by slave owners. In his book "Negro President - Jefferson and the Slave Power," Pulitzer Prize winning historian Garry Wills writes that party founder Thomas Jefferson and his fellow Democratic Party politicians had a political "indebtedness to the slavemasters." Wills notes that while "everyone recognizes that Jefferson depended on slaves for his economic existence, fewer reflect that he depended on them for his political existence. Yet the latter was the all-important guardian of the former." The party’s first six political platforms from 1840-1860 supported slavery. Seven Democratic presidents owned slaves. Democrats in Congress opposed the 13th Amendment that abolished slavery, the 14th amendment that gave Blacks due process and the 15th Amendment that gave them the right to vote.
