Dude, this made me laugh out loud. I love it when people don't know about the tilt, they always have the same reaction.

This was guard lesson number one at the school I trained to blue belt at. I'm relatively small (130lbs) but I'm not afraid to be in anyone's closed guard because of this fundamental principle. Even larger upper belts are often surprised at how hard they have to work to move me around in their guard when I apply this. It is not always easy, you have to be disciplined and patient. Base and connection are fundamental essentials for all positions and techniques.

I've been doing this only in closed guard since you showed me in a previous life. It works from everywhere! Only 8 pages! Further evidence of how much my jiu jitsu still sucks

It's super cool that a skill you already understand can be used in so many more places.

I’ve been doing this when in closed guard after seeing Henry Akins show it but to see that it can be applied more broadly is just amazing. Where do I go to buy the 8 pages? 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
