As a scientist I dreamed to meet Stephen Hawking once. My attempts to invite him to Dallas for some scientific event failed, and I was able just to visit his grave in London. It was just a simple stone plate on the floor of Westminster Abbey with his name on it (among many other plates with names of prominent scientists). Those plates symbolize how little a life of one person means in common motion of mankind, even if a person represents a top of human intellect. Great person and scientist, if God may bless his soul. Thank you, the channel, for this outstanding video.

Uh where is time? It is in the mind. Oh and while this brother was saying there is no God, his ruined body was kept living by God! It was the Great Light within that sustained his life here in Earth. RIP.

@@TerranceBurney-z8jtime isn’t in the mind, our perception of it is. Maybe look up time dilation to see how speed and mass warp time. The discovery of this is literally what made Einstein famous. Stephen Hawking’s book details the events that took place in the universe and stuff that ultimately led to today, simplifying complex physics topics into something everyday people could understand He was an atheist and disbelieved in god, but so? Newton, Einstein, and Galileo are all some of the most respected scientists in the world despite being theists. Atheists tend to respect these figures too despite that. Stephen Hawking was a brilliant physicist, one of the smartest scientists/thinkers of the last century

I had 3 young children & decided to return to university when my youngest was a toddler. I wrote a book report for one of my English classes on Hawkins’s A Brief History of Time. It brings me back to a time as a young mother who saw the writing on the wall - my then husband was unable to provide & I knew if I didn’t go back & finish my degree we would be living on welfare! I did finish & had a fantastic career in Pharma, then medical device, then bio Tech device sales. Thank you Stephen for enlightening this mom who loves technology so much my degree is in Technical Sales. You made a difference in my life!

When I was preparing for my competitive exams, I got my right hand broken, at that time i started solving maths problem of my exam in my head(these problems are of 12th standard and thus nothing compared to complex physics equations), that thing helped me a lot, even now its helping me. My effort is nothing in comparison to sir hawking, but it just drilled a thought in my mind, that it is capable of anything just we need a will to do that and some practice.

I Love his work, and the loyalty, and dedication his wife had for each other at the beginning of his career, till his dying day, despite the separation. I love his dedication to continually expand his mind, and that he never stop his work due to his illness, but continued at a pace steady pace despite the progression of his illness... I think many can draw strength, and passion for learning not only through his work, but, life story.

It is wrong to describe Hoyle as a "fan" the steady state theory. At the time resolution of that depended on the Hubble constant, and terrestrial telescopes had only a limited view of the universe in the 1960s. Basically the matter could not be resolved and Fred pointed that out in the books that he wrote at the time. A majority of cosmologists favoured a universe that started with an event, and he agreed to be one of a group who would champion the alternative hypothesis. Calling the other side "big bang" was a nice piece of wit, and is still in use today despite the discovery of microwave background radiation, which finally settled the matter.

So does 2+2= Is it predestined to be or what would the equation be if not. I think that we make our own choices but the outcome can be determined. With the infinite possibilities and outcomes each would have a predestined end leading to the same end, just as all things had a beginning.

Suppose that I take a stack of papers that span from the floor down to the roof. Now suppose that I am burning each page at a time starting from the top, assuming nothing goes wrong, ofcourse. Moving through present time is kind of like burning through a stack of papers, whereas the confined space is already set out but we are only moving at a certain pace at a time. Nothing you can do changes the outcome that was predetermined, but that same outcome is the very consequence of your actions, combined with external factors such as what we'd consider luck. Say you take a hike every day across this dangerous path, when there is a perfectly safe path within your reach, one that leads to the same destination. You may say, "I am predetermined to walk this path" but it is your actions that predetermine themselves.
