Seem to recall with powerplay you signed up, waited 4 weeks then spent 7,500,000 credits to buy the cargo you needed to accelerate you progress to level three to unlock the weapon, bought a pile of them put them in storage, defected to the next power then rinse and repeat. Prismatic shields were good and the packhounds were fun. Haven't played since Odyssey came in because my laptop doesn't run it so I don't remember what ones I do have. There was no personal investment in supporting a 'cause' because the game doesn't have that depth. It was the same with engineering initially with the random rolls for results. As you say Drew it was a space sim designed by D & D players. 'Roll a D20 to see the result' territory. There was no 'iiimmmerrsssion' to quote Yamiks.

I heard yamiks voice when I read that. Then you quoted him. Well done.

Thanks for that. You gave a a good way of understanding power play and how to get into it….. If I want?

Out in the black, I get thinking does Drew know we're out here doing this? When I check there's only 48 of us at the moment, searching a scratch in the distance we call a landscape. If you know what I'm talking about then I don't have to explain myself haha

I was beyond disappointed with this "deep dive" about the new powerplay

As a dedicated BGS player I always felt that Power play should be a competition between player organisations and not some political factions (I find most of them despicable in their motivations). In the current state, PP is a pain for BGS players AND vice versa as both playstyles are not integrated well. And both are hellish timesinks. I am really not looking forward to PP 2.0 as I expect that BGS will be broken even more in favor of the PP mechanics.

Agreed. I would have loved for Powerplay leaders to be the leaders of player squadrons along with module access being locked to each faction. Then at least somebody would give a hoot for their player's avatar to be displayed on a banner in stations. As it stands, if they removed access to the current modules via pp by putting them in tech brokers and replaced them with non-gear related rewards it would go a long way imo. Module unlocks reduced the whole thing to a shopping endeavor. EDIT - Drew being lost as he tries to figure out how to even engage in the convoluted system should be a wake up call to FDEV. This is the common reaction of most players.
