Absolutely I totally agree! It’s my project.. I don’t plan on driving it tomorrow and I just got it It’s what I love doing…. keep up the videos. They are very very useful.

A upper end rebuild is better than a total rebuild. But might as well rebuild the whole engine. I won my first Hmmwv on 3-3-21 I'm having the same feelings you dicribed. Mine too is a no start. I already assume that the engine will need redoing. If it's good? Score on for me. All the other projects you did turned out great. You inspired me and I'm probably twice you age. 🍻🇺🇸

Part of the issue comes with the fact that they took the CDR valve out of the service kits, and so they don't get replaced, get backed up with oil, so the crank case doesn't vent the pressure it builds up. and blows the head gasket out. So make sure when you do fix this, also change out the CDR valve.

Best of luck to ya! My first m1123 humvee was bought in 9/19. A Non-starter. Complete fuel system replacement. But luckily, It ran after the repairs. Your right, you don't know what you'll get with these things but when it's fixed, you can say "I Did it". Keep up the videos, very fun to watch.

It's at least a good sign it runs, but the reason an ECV truck gets auctioned usually is it has a severe enough problem they do not want to bother fixing it. The truck to me looks in great condition for a gov auction truck and has most of the hard to get parts on it already. I got a gov truck that did that and they had put the cylinder rings on backwards on cylinder 1 at the factory. A blown head gasket on that model is usually on the back cylinders in the corners. Good luck and I'll keep watching to see the progress.

As someone whose pulled these things out, theyre not a pain, if they have armor? then yes, dont let a little head gasket destroy ya, just have this food for thought: we replace the engine if it blows a gasket, no rebuilds or nothing, just throw a new engine into it, same with the trans

I guess I got lucky with gov planet. Was a non runner but got to the yard and it turned over and started. The only thing that was missing was the doors but I asked if I could take them off another as the pictures showed it with front doors.

You’ll get it going and be better because of it. In the mean time want to sell the airlift bumper and tire carrier to fund the repairs?😀 Sorry I couldn’t help it. It will be a nice truck when you’re done.

tell me about it , I just picked up my very own yesterday. thinking all it needed was batteries and an alternator, i noticed the power steering pump was also missing as i crawl beneath for a better look, my worst nightmare, a metal block is perforating out of the oil pan,

@DakotaWoodHD3 жыл бұрын
@@hanselperez-valdivia2144 I would just replace the engine with the same version. You could find a good running 6.5 power pack for under $3k. That would be the easiest and most cost effective way. You would be into a LS swap for way more than $3k.

How did you get the radiator stacks to separate? I have the same truck and those Allen bolts holding the oil radiator are not budging.
@clashofclansshield85833 жыл бұрын
William Johnson don’t know if it is smart to take a torch to an oil radiator. Mostly because the bolts are somewhat recessed between the pipes about 2 to 3 inches. I chose to drill them out.
