Yes big difference, Bruno Lage knows the club very well and after a long time I saw Benfica fighting back. Everything superior in Bruno Lage, I know it's only the first game at the time of this comment but I believe Benfica might turn it around or at least make a decent season, which I would believe it would not happen with Roger Smith. still haven't watched the video, but definetly will. Benfica is stuck with pratically the same board since 2003 (only the president changed in 2021), since then we haven't seen the real Benfica, the club that played every game in europe to win and was always a difficult match to the opponent, regardless who that opponent was, the club that was with no doubt the most dominant in portugal and one of the best in europe. But as ine french journalist wrote in the 90's Benfica will never end, they know, no matter how bad they seem to be they will always find a way to reinvent themselves and keep on being one of the best in europe. And that is stil true, the situation is very complicated but we will never end and we will get back to being one of the best clubs in europe. But for that we will need to choose a completely new president with a new board, in the 2025 elections, and break ties with the past almost 30 years for good

Just asking for an opinion, how or what is missing for Braga to become champion of Portugal? in my opinion is a lack of confidence from the current president on Coaches, while yes the current president of Braga is a legend because of his longevity and Prosperity that he brought to the Club but i cant forgive him the fact that when they get a briliant coach they lose/get rid of him my examples are Domingos Paciencia, Rubem Amorim but most outrageos for me was defnitley Arthur Jorge.

I believe that Antonio Salvador has done a lot for the club but it's time for a new project. I don't forget that he promised the club would win the league by 2021 and he has failed to fulfill that promise. Besides there have been at least 3 seasons in the past 15 years where a strong Braga could have won the league due to the three giants incompetence but it never happened because Braga doesn't have a champion's mentality.

I'd use 'biggest', 'greatest', etc to refer to quality which is arguably measured by trophies. Maybe they're the most notorious if you're going by something that intangible. Using such parameters could lead to extremisms like calling Al Nassr one of the biggest football clubs in the world. Also as a curiosity, they had some very relevant periods in the latest years but if you analyze performance / trophies as a whole after Portugal's dictatorship ended, they're pretty unremarkable, in that sense the fall started a long time ago.

CMVM 29th February 2024 This report revealed a net profit of 18 million euros for the first half, representing an improvement of 31.4 million euros compared to the same period of the previous year. And btw, I just mentioned financial crisis (which is false)

I based my report around the latest one from this month: Total revenue: €256.4 million, representing a 10% reduction compared to the previous year. Even excluding transfer revenues, there was a decline of 8.6%. The club's liabilities increased by 8.7%, reaching €483 million. I'm not even going into detail regarding Benfica's losses and the drop in income from transfers, as I believe the Euros influenced those figures. In summary, the club is not on the verge of bankruptcy, but if this trend continues, combined with lower earnings from European competitions, it could find itself in a similar situation to Porto within 2-3 seasons.

@@ThroneFC I hope you know that transfers money is payed in 5, 6, 7, up to 10 years in some cases, depending on the negotiations. The club is still receiving payment tranches from Darwin’s sale.
