Milosevic gave the US Secretary of State Warren Christofer a piece of paper and asked him to write down what Serbia should do to get the US support. Great show. I'm from former Yougoslavia and was vitnes of it's destruction by USA and NATO. It firsy started by stragling us with economic sanctions trough very expensive loans . They were using IMF and World bank. Once we took loans, they played their cards with increasing interest rates. Our outside debt was around $9 billion...and Bush decline to extend our acces to new loans declaring us non solvent country. Todays countries made from Yougoslavias parts are more then $ 500 billions in debt and still have access to loans.New way to colonise some countries.

People who make this point always leave out the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. The Soviets and the Nazis were allies, they invaded Poland together. Stalin and the other Bolsheviks would have been perfectly happy to stay on the same side as the Nazis, but Hitler betrayed them with a surprise attack. The Soviets didn't fight the Nazis because they wanted to, they fought them because they were forced to.

@FayeDragon
@FayeDragon 2 жыл бұрын
@V3LOCT that communism has very outdated definition and doesn't apply to modern socialism that has absorbed some aspects of capitalism. You can still be rich in China, own private properties, cars, live in luxury, but due to the nature of tax in China you will never be stupidly rich that your money won't run out for 7 generations to the point your great grandson doesn't need to work at all. People like Bill Gates and Elon Musk shouldn't exist in modern world anyway, in a capitalist country, those "capital" itself become the highest commodity and can even be used to bypass law. People like Bill Gates probably bribed tax officers so he could pay only 50% of what he supposed to pay, pay the other 10% to the tax officer and donate other 10% in "charity" and be hailed as a saint by media while making a total profit 30% not including his other unaccounted assets in tax haven. While in socialist country, these money would go straight to public welfare, building public facility and better healthcare system for the working class without the pretext of "charity". Capitalism is a dying system and China has shown us the system that works to bring prosperity to the masses.

After WW1, we immediately cut back on weapons production and the size of our military. After WW2, this did not happen. The machinery for war production in large part stayed in place. The Militarized Industrial Complex began to get power right after WW2. These war profiteers really had more power than any other part of our economy. The New Deal laws regulated our economy sectors except the war machine. After Korea, the cold war was on. Billions were spent on new weapons, planes, ships etc. We really started to arm ourselves to the teeth after Korea. You have to remember, our military was run by the war lords of WW2. You look at the pressure that Curis Lemay put on Kennedy during the missile crisis. Lemay kept telling JFK he could bomb Cuba out of existence in a few days. Look at what MacArthur did and how he got fired. All of the people who ran our military were WW2 war hawks. These generals were bolstered up even further by the war machinery, the MIC. They say that we had so many ships waiting at the Okinawa invasion, you could have walked from Okinawa to HI just walking from ship to ship. We were by far the strongest military on earth after WW2 and still are to this day. The Cold War was fear and war mongering, done mostly by the MIC. I remember hearing things when I was in the Army in Germany in 1975 and 1976. One thing that was going around, and this came right from our Army leadership is that the hundreds of thousands of troops and tanks we had in West Germany and Europe would only slow the Russian attackers by two weeks. We were told that Russian had thousands of tanks and a million man infantry, that all we could do if they attacked is just slow their advance westward for two weeks. That was such a huge croak of crap. That was not true. All I remember hearing when I was in Germany in the Army is the Soviets equipment is better than ours and they have more of it. That is so untrue. Soviet equipment was notoriously inferior to ours, and still is. Our imperialistic genocide on the rest of the world is so painfully obvious now. Once you understand some real facts and truth, the facade of our indoctrination and proliferation of their propaganda is meaningless.

This is fantastic. I might add another reason for Stalin's defensive paranoia (to a fault really) is the reason Truman was leveraged as FDR's final term VP (replacing Henry Wallace who likely wouldn't have been so easy to rollover on this/other points), which is the dropping of 2 atomic bombs on Japan, which not only drew (exploded) incredibly clear and visible lines in the sand in terms of spheres of influence but also presented the actual willingness to use such paradigm-shifting weapons of mass destruction. FDR's agreement at Potsdam (or Yalta, I forget, one of those) for the USSR to enter the pacific front uncoincidentally let them witness this first hand - the second bomb dropping mere hours after their scheduled invasion. Also there's the whole CIA-run covert program out of Italy called Operation Gladio, the full intent of which was to direct "stay behind" fascist paramilitary ostensibly "in case of Soviet invasion" but really any leftward state reorientation after the war, similar to Weimar in a way with the freikorps (which of course unsurprisingly formalized into the SS) crushing the socialist/communist parties during the 1918 uprisings. Along with assistance from the Catholic Church (see the P2 lodge they funneled money through, and how this was eventually exposed through a bank-run investigation along with the death of "God's banker" in London) and mafia ("fun" fact: briefly mentioned in The Godfather pt.3 if I recall) in laundering money/funneling munitions to such paramilitary, the basic template became generating domestic terror attacks to generate fear and manufacture consent away from the left, usually by blaming leftist political parties in a Reichstag Fire -> Enabling Act-esque sort of way, known as the "strategy of tension", the "years of lead" in Italy are a direct result of this covert paramilitary direction. Not to mention the US-protect ratlines into South America, protecting people like Klaus Barbie (France/Bolivia), Otto Skorzeny (basically nazi james bond), Paul Schaffer (no not _that_ Paul Schaffer lol...this one's a literal nazi of course, instrumental in cultivating an ideological alignment for Pinochet's ascension - also enormous pedophile because of course he was...makes Epstein's whole thing look like, excuse the crass pun here lol, child's play), et al. in their migration to Chile/other parts of the global south so as to continue setting the global Cold War chessboard in a monroe doctrine-esque claim over south america through Operation Condor, which essentially used the same template of directing fascist paramilitary, the same strategy really used all over the globe frankly. I mean as sort of a continuum here, the nazis didn't really lose WWII, Germany did, and the US capitalist empire, rallying capital under the banner of neoliberalism and "free trade" imperialism via IMF/World Bank established in Bretton-Woods from our massive negotiating leverage after the war, merely subsumed the nazis and their ideological trajectory/vision and gradually, mostly covertly of course (also with Operation Paperclip) digested it into a slightly more palatable less viscerally ultranationalist aesthetic form, our dominion secured by our currency hegemony (Bretton-Woods -> Nixon shock kicking over the ladder of gold reserve backing from under us as nation-states could potentially accumulate their own gold reserves and usurp such financial leverage; petrodollar de facto world reserve currency grounding dollar purchasing power, as revealed by '73 OPEC embargo which led to domestic oil extraction to patch up this potential exploit) and ultimately enforced at implicit threat of the barrel of a gun via 800+ military bases and a black hole of "defense" budget, allowing us control over pretty much every aspect of geopolitical influence, rejecting subservience gets you highlighted for good 'ol "regime change" like Cuba or Venezuela (which, since Libya was noted as having the largest oil reserves in Africa, uncoincidentally Venezuela sits on the largest oil reserves on earth, what a "coincidence"). But yeah, this is great is the main point, just adding on top of course. For anyone circumstantially unfamiliar, also check out: The Devil's Chessboard by David Talbot, Killing Hope by William Blum, The Jakarta Method by Vincent Bevins, Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins, War is a Racket by Smedley Butler (also see: "Business plot" _actual_ fascist coup attempt by wall street revealed by general Butler as much to wall street's shagrin dude had a conscience, also the bonus army veteran march on washington proposing at the very least a bonus for their service/sacrifice in WWI, M1918 tanks were deployed in the streets of DC in response, shocker), etc. etc. Or just like look up "regime change" or any of the CIA's operational history.

Sure would like forensics to dig deep about inhouse life insurance policies placed on the heads that were selected for extermination by the warmongers. Like in Germany WWII. I sometimes wonder if from 1744 in Jim Marrs books these warmongers actually created at some point life insurance policies that went on far further for all then their inhouse insurance company? I wish I had the authority to have forensics perform duty in the name of all humanity. Donald Suiters

It is not long since I would have skipped watching or reading anything openly Socialist. But events, especially over the past three years, have caused me to re-evaluate a lot of things. First up, while still a youngster at school, I recall the menace of the Soviet Union being drummed into us daily. A few times we also had nuclear strike practices. It was like the Soviets were hardly human, but instead automatons bent on world domination and killing. I recall also wondering how it was that Soviet citizens could not possibly be NORMAL people who love their fathers, mothers siblings and extended families. What a mystery. Growing through middle age and onward into old age, this ridiculous model persisted in absence of better information. Well thanks to the Internet and my interest starting early to find out the Russian view on World affairs, I realised I was changing my views about Russia, about President Putin, and about Governments. But also I realised my trust and faith in the USA and Western sources to tell me the complete TRUTH about what was going on. I despaired at Western Media enough that for much time now, I avoid televisions, radio and newspapers. Don't worry, I still get more than enough information from various angles. But listening to your thoughts, I am reminded of a question I am pondering at present. I suspect I know what the result might turn out to be. Lets see . . . how shall I put it. Here goes - DEMOCRACY is almost unknown in history. We have had war-lords, Royalty, Despots, Dictators, slave owners and so on, but not DEMOCRACY. So I am asking if DEMOCRACY is a form of governance that suits people naturally? My country is usually considered a FREE DEMOCRACY, and yet our ( arguably elected ) politicians are behaving as DICTATORS, DESPOTS and really have oppressed the citizens and employed violence against peaceful protest. They enact laws that turn out to be informal and illegal, but who cares? They are the government and what they say and choose is what is enforced - even with brutality. I also dwell on the question "Who or what are they serving?" Do they serve the people, or some other entity. The latter is most likely in my view, and that would not be democracy. So its a ?Democracy" in which the views of the people do not matter. But the ?Democracies? do criticise Russia as if Russia was worse than them, and lets not forget in their view Russia is corrupt and undemocratic? I have lost faith, trust and respect for my government, its propaganda outlets (Media), and in that we will have any DEMOCRATIC elections ever again. Now I watch Russia and the Ukraine event. I blame the USA, and its "playing chicken" as one yank put it for the situation that now exists as our country and our world plummet into depression and stupidity. I am ashamed that I did not see this earlier. I wish Russia well.

@@slavkas.6552 Really I think that after this struggle, Russia will emerge a beacon of the future. Oddly enough Russia and the West / USA are changing places to quite some extent. I know my country now has restrictions, laws that Stalin might have been envious of. But when I hear President Putin, he makes sense. I would dearly love to visit Russia, and if I were wealthy enough, live there even though I am not used to snow, and find the language and alphabet bewildering. I saw on some online videos how your grocery prices and necessities have become so expensive. I don't know hoe you will get though this, but am sure you will make it through, stronger, independent, and worthy of high respect. The same can't be said of the West. The more news I see out from Ukraine, the more I understand the importance of Russia finishing off the AZOF problem. Good luck.

Wow wow and wow again. As an Australian where we live in relative bliss as a source of mineral resources for the reconstruction of Europe and also Japan under the Marshal Plan, and now with only one major media conglomerate owned by Murdoch it seems that as well fed puppy dogs we or at least I have wondered why our why our Governments have been so subservient to every request to die for American and British wars that seemed unjust. Now that you have so comprehensively filled in my knowledge of the real history of the modern political world I can now understand my confusion and distaste for the distopian world I live in. What I still can't understand is how and why the American people vote in the traitorous greedy and sociapathic politicians and why the people are angrily divided between two political parties who have identical policies despite their rhetoric. It always amazes me that the excuse for inexcusabe wars is " we are bringing those little brown people the joys of Democracy" when clearly the USA and most Western countries are either avaricious Oligarchies or about to become one. Furthermore it seems that the real power increasingly lies with international oligarchs working alongside the unacountable secret services. Little wonder the disparity in wealthy nations is greater than in poor ones.As a young man I read a quote by Nelson Rockefeller who said that the CIA's role was not to protect America from the Russians, it was to propagate American business interests abroad and that Russia is not the real threat it was the have nots - in America I presumed. It certainly seems that every war is promoted by the CIA paid for by the have nots and funded by both the government and the opposition and benefits the filthy rich.

I guess he oversimplified for U.S. audience (avoiding confusion), so no, NATO didn't bomb that Yugoslavia (with all the republics), but did bomb Serbian lines in Bosnian civil war (Bosnian Muslims VS Bosnian Serbs) in '95, and Yugoslavia already broken with secession of the republics (becoming independent states) of Slovenia, Macedonia, Croatia (with civil war), Bosnia and Herzegovina (with civil war) So in '99, when that "humanitarian" NATO bombardment started two remaining republics of the Yugoslavia were Serbia and Montenegro. All NATO "interventions" in Yugoslavia were exclusively against Sebian people (out of six constitutional nationalities and one major minoritie group- Albanians), because of Serbian historic (still ongoing) affiliation with Russia and Russian people.

Before World War Two, the Western Powers promoted German expansion eastward. Non-intervention in Spain enabled the seizure of power by the military junta. The United States, France and England rejected collective security to confront Nazi lebensraum. What was called appeasement was nothing less than Western powers facilitating the German invasion of the Soviet Union. It undermined the strategic tasks, such as a second front, needed to defeat Nazi Germany and let the Soviet Union carry the burden of the war. After the defeat of Nazi Germany the Soviet Union upheld its pledge to fight the Japanese despite a previous non-aggression pact with Japan. The atomic bombs were dropped on Japan to re-define the Western relations with the Soviet Union to establish the hegemony of the United States internationally. The Russian Federation and the Peoples' Republic of China have seen the United States actions regarding Taiwan and Hong Kong and the expansion of NATO on Russia's borders.

Listen here, I came here from a video about an interview with a discusting individual called Nigel Farage. his opinions are very toxic, but so are yours (the left). Im a social democrat, the center. and its just toxicity everywhere around. the left belives in US imperialism but forget that _Pax Americana_ delivered the second longest period in human history without a single inter power-war. you defend china and russia, but those countries are menacing people that dont want to be part of Russian or chinese influence, and even menacing their own people. the US is defending all those small eastern european nations that dont want to be in russian sphere of influence. put that in your head THOSE PEOPLE WANT TO BE IN THE WESTERN SPHERE OF INFLUENCE! *russian opinion doesn't matter there*. this is how nations work and have been working since countries were invented. I would like to ask you if you belive that portugal should be part of spain? in the 13th century, portugal signed a treaty with britan, bringing portugal to the british sphere of influence until since the 1200's until 1986. But spain, at that time, saw Portugal as its spere of influence. So, britan should have just withraw all forces from Portugal and allow the country to fall in the battle of Aljubarrota, becoming a spanish province? (I presented this point with portugal to take your eyes out of russia and place them in a situation where your opinion is not molded by the ideas you had before.) I also despise the rigth, I made a lot of coments explaning the problems with Nigel's logic in that disgusting video. My point is that both rigth and left are just making political points and defend stuff that is antidemocratic. you people, the americans and the british have no idea what a dictatorship is. my country was a dictatorship, Russia IS as dictatorship. Russia is a mass of land, it has no feelings. it doensnt feel insecure or treatened, but Putin's grip on power feels those emotions.

Thanks for the KZbin on this topic. It was informative and brought up some questions that were not addressed. What influence could the Soviet Union's alliance with Nazi Germany under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Nonaggression Pact in August 1939, at the outset of WWII, play in the Allies' reaction following the conclusion of the war in setting up NATO (led by the U.S.) - and its 'mindset' of perceived future Soviet expansion and threat? The Soviets invaded Poland 16 days or so after Germany invaded Poland in September 1939. The Soviets invaded Finland in November 1939. The Soviets didn't need to invade either country, except perhaps as a land grab to begin their buffering from the west. It's curious that the allies never declared war on the Soviet Union, even though France and Britain had a defensive pact with Poland. I realize there was a lot of diplomatic nuance in the decision not to declare war, and it could have pushed the Soviet Union into a military alliance rather than a non-aggression pact with Germany. Another consideration, Russia and the Prussian and Austro-Hungarian empires occupied Poland prior to WWI; and so, perhaps this was an opportunity to reclaim its empire. Vyacheslav Molotov is quoted as saying, "One blow from the German army and another from the Soviet army put an end to this ugly product of Versailles." History is messy. One American general at least, Patton, thought the U.S. was going to go to war with the Soviet Union at some point, while Eisenhower was trying to avoid that type of confrontation. In Patton's simple-minded sort of way, he saw the two ideologies of communism/totalitarianism and capitalism/democratism as incompatible. I believe the use of the atomic bomb on Japan was a demonstration to the Soviet Union to tread cautiously. NATO was formed April of 1949 and the Soviet Union exploded their first atomic bomb in August 1949 and both sides settled into a standoff. A point I am trying to make is that there are so many underlying factors that have led to the reason NATO still persists and the current standoff in Ukraine as well. Neither side trusts the other. And so they continue to make moves and countermoves on the global war chessboard. China is entering the foray on a tri-level chessboard. IF NATO was disbanded, would all of the respective adversaries go back to their natural borders? Is NATO the glue maintaining the saber-rattling and diplomatic hostilities? If the WEST directed its economic resources, capability and innovation to infrastructure improvements and technological advancements, etc., while protecting its intellectual property, rather than military hegemony and imperialism (projecting its strength), it could possibly be a better direction for the West to pursue.
