Abreu was so so so very good. He always had the stuff, but he turned into the Astros most reliable reliever and the opposing teams worst nightmare in the 2022 postseason. The Abreu-Pressly punch was so filthy
@nicholasgangwer48952 жыл бұрын
His numbers are nearly identical to Pressley’s. His journey is similar too. I ordered his jersey bc these bullpen guys don’t get enough credit. The MVP usually goes to an offensive player
@josefstein90622 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasgangwer4895 Absolutely dude, our bullpen is just chock-full of closer level studs. Also, that Abreu strikeout of Stanton may be one of my favorite postseason moments ever

Bryan Abreu really upped his game the last 2 years. I liked him from the jump..glad he got his control down. This season he was lights out. My guess, if he was in another organization, they'd dumped him. I'm still amazed by the development the Astros have done to find the best in players. Verlander Cole Montero Greinke Musgrove Few others.

The 22 Astros playoff run was special. 11-2. Absolute domination. So many guys made a case for WS MVP. Pena, Alvarez, Pressly, Abreu, Bregman, Tucker, Javier and of course Valdez
@dasparado2 жыл бұрын
I was really hoping for a 11-0 sweep but I will certainly take it.
@MagikFingers4202 жыл бұрын
@@dasparado if Dusty would have pulled JV after the 3 runs were scored, we might have went 11-0. But Dusty is an old school kat who plays off of instinct vs analysis. He felt he was better to keep him in game 1. Oh well, we won, and like Paul Wall said "we about to runnit back!"

@Coreynot me. I said before the 2017 playoffs that the Astros would be a dynasty. I knew their farm system was loaded with talent
@MagikFingers4202 жыл бұрын
@Corey those are bandwagon fans, the type of fans who will be gone when the runs are over. Real fans know that Stros are in a retooling phase NOT a rebuilding phase. We've replaced all sorts of players actually, Keuchel, Morton, Cole, Correa, Springer, etc... even lost Brantley to injury this year. What do they do, retool. Go find young phenoms hiding away and bring them in a perfect their god given crafts. This team has the best GM and scouts for building the best farm club in the league. We are about to lose Verlander, and trust me im happy with it, bring the youngster pitchers into the fulltime rotation, use all that money being freed up to get a legit DH, LF and a bullpen pitcher or 2. Time to runnit back!!!

Javier and Mancini i would also add to that list. Javier is picked up by the Astros in 2015 and takes years bouncing around in the minor leagues before finally getting his chance as a reliver and from there he slowly worked his way up into a very unlikely hero producing two combined no hitters and one was the world series which turned the team around after game 3. Mancini was one that two years ago did not know if he would live let alone play baseball as he had stage 3 colon cancer. 2021 he bounces back with the O's and gets the comeback player award and did decent hitting that still went as he was traded to the Astros at least for a bit. As near the end of the regular season he went into a massive slump followed by Gurriel going on a great post-season run. Then Gurriel goes out on an injury and Mancini isnt know for his defense at 1st base but then in the 8th in game 5 he catches a hit closing the inning out which if he had missed would have tied the game.
@jcgp852 жыл бұрын
That catch was amazing. The Chaz catch was amazing as well but I always saw the Mancini one just as good because of the speed it was it and it actually saved a run
