Haha, I feel you! 😄 There’s just something about Sherlock Holmes that hooks you - whether it’s Robert Downey Jr. throwing punches or Benedict Cumberbatch solving crimes at lightning speed. And don’t even get me started on those late-night audiobook marathons... suddenly it’s 3 AM and you're convinced you could solve a murder. 😅 Arthur Conan Doyle really gave us a gift that keeps on giving. Glad to know there’s another Sherlock addict out there! Stick around - we’re definitely on the same wavelength! 🔍😉

Doyle did not invent the genre of detective fiction. That was Edgar Allan Poe when he wrote “The Murders in the Rue Morgue.”

@fr57ujf ou're absolutely right! Edgar Allan Poe's “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” is often credited as the first detective story, paving the way for the genre. Doyle himself admired Poe’s work and even referenced him in the Sherlock Holmes stories. What Doyle did so brilliantly was refine and popularize the detective archetype, giving us Holmes - a character who feels almost real to this day. 😁 I love that you caught that detail - sounds like you're a true fan of detective fiction! If you enjoy these kinds of deep dives into literary history, you might really like what’s coming next. Hope to see you around for more! 😊

1 thing that's not arguable is Conan perfected it with Sherlock and his sidekick Dr Watson

@@jamessharpe6699 Absolutely! Doyle didn’t just write detective stories - he basically set the gold standard. 😎 Holmes and Watson are like the original crime-fighting duo… kind of like the Batman and Robin of Victorian London, but with more tea and less spandex. 😆 It’s hard to imagine detective fiction without their dynamic - I mean, who else could tolerate Holmes’ violin playing at 2 AM? 🎻😂 Glad to see another fan who gets it! Stick around, there’s plenty more Holmes love coming your way! 🔍✨
