Kendre Allies, also known as the Urban Cowboy, is a person who saves and rehabilitates horses in Cape Town. His stables are located at the Ouden Molen Eco Village in Pinelands. However, his work may soon come to an end. The Western Cape Provincial Government has recently decided to redevelop the Ouden Molen area, which is not a new phenomenon. The forced removals and displacement of people along the Liesbeeck and Swart Rivers date back to the beginning of Dutch colonialism in Cape Town, and it has not stopped since then. It appears that the Western Cape Government aims to link the redevelopment of the Ouden Molen area with the problematic development of Amazon along the Liesbeeck River. In this episode, Kendre talks about the work he is doing and explains what he and others stand to lose if the Western Cape Government's plans go ahead.
