He also incorporated the Dilla element in his approach to rhythm. Salute Kay!!

Been listening to Kaytra since his Kaytradamus days and he is truly one of the most unique producers in the U.S. I would say his production is neo-soul house, and that slaps sooo hard. I’m just gonna plug his Boiler Room set from 2013, a MUST watch!

Amazing video - I’ve been rocking w kay for almost 8 years now since Kaytradmus and I’m so glad he’s getting his props..I was so proud when he won his Grammy like a parent..lol I’m 42 and I’m a super Neptunes head like he is - he’s playing unreleased Neptunes tracks in his dj sets so I know he’s a head like me..I can hear all his influences in his music..from the dilla to the Neptunes to the disco to everything..I love his production style so much and he’s been my fave since the Neptunes have been eh to me..he took over a very special lane and has made it all his own ..I can’t wait to hear his Rochelle Jordan remix of all along and so happy twin flame is finally coming out in a few days..dope video and I say that as a true Kaytranada fan - going to my 9th show in sept

I think it's also incredibly important to mention that House was a started by Black queer folks in the mid to late 70s. For Kaytranada to produce and spin this kind of music is a reclamation.

I actually got to meet Kaytranada once after a set at a festival, he was super nice and yes, very quiet , even after tearing the house down with his set, and he had actually just opened for Madlib the day before , which you’d never know! lol LOVE Kaytranada

I just started working for my local radio station and you’ve been a super massive inspiration in learning how to describe music and introduce bands on the air. I really like your cadence and nonchalant way of describing music with your well articulated knowledge in theory it’s just… so good. These videos are like masterclasses! Your taste in music is also ridiculously good, you should listen to Choir Boy if you haven’t already I think you would enjoy their audio tree performance. I’ll be driving n’ listening to music and think “holy shit I wish I could share this with Sergio” almost everyday

I am in deep Love with Kaytranada , I know he's g@#@y, his music is my frequency. I've been a fan for about 12 or so years. I was introduced to him by the owner of Nusoul Magazine ( Norman Mayer's, RIP) He booked him for a show. I was an artist then so he booked me at the same show . He was an underground artist then . This man is a musical genius. I can't wait to see him at a live show today! He's my gym playlist King too.
