Edit to add: ❤❤❤. This is, as you young folk say, a “sick” vlog. I feel as if it is a special gift just for me. I cried. I am 70. I’ve lost my husband. I’ve lost my son, and only child. I’ve no daughter in law, nor any grandchildren. What I do have, and what Nile addressed, is the gift that I was aware, in the moment, that every dirty diaper (sometimes 30 a day!) was a a wonder that was would be gone all too quickly. I was blessed. I love seeing you, Joanna, and Nile, and the Squad, living in the now. Your ability to share that allows me the ability to live it too. I just love the love and warmth you and Nile have (I lost my brother too), and the fullness of living that you bring. Thank you so much.

My gosh, that was impressive. I’m so used to seeing Nile so impressive things in the gym and having a laugh and mucking around but I see this and I’m reminded how fricken talented he actually is and that he was/is an elite gymnast… top of his game, top of the world even… like 🤯

I (and I'm sure many others) would love to see you compete again! With the amazing people you have around you, I'm sure you can find a way to make it work both physically and mentally! Wherever it takes you, I hope you enjoy the process and get to experience the thrill of the end result (and take us all along on the journey!)

Watching your dad is awesome he was so happy for you. And so proud of you. Parents can be really awesome with this stuff. My father watched all my fights. First one he was so shocked when he saw his short little daughter fighting like a man in the ring but he was super proud and seeing his reaction was the best part of the win for me. Their reactions make us even more proud of ourselves in that moment I think. When we see how proud our parents are of us it just makes it so much better. And your dad dancing around is just awesome. Such a great father.

Every time I watch footage of Nile at the Olympics or Commonwealth it gives me goosebumps. I can’t imagine what it must have felt like to be family watching with the anticipation. Such an incredible sport 💛

I absolutely LOVE to watch Nile. I just smile every time, even when he’s just goofing off with the boys and you. Nike YOU ARE still special. Just think of what you are doing now and soak it in. That way 5 years down the road you won’t look back and say I wish I would have soaked it in. You are doing absolutely amazing things and just look at all the people joining your gym. It’s phenomenal because of YOUR DREAM!

Nile you have paved the way for the next lot of young gymnasts coming up in their careers. And you have done it with grace and determination and pride. The fact is that even though you are not competing right now you have opened up your gyms and are still involved in gymnastics and that’s amazing. You have also spoken your truth about being a professional gymnast and all that has happened with that and thank you for sharing your story

I think the ability to move on as soon as it's done, win or lose, is actually a necessity for being a top-level athlete. It sucks from the perspective of "memory making" but the ability to forget the fu¢k-ups is a key component to being able to perform, make comebacks, recover quickly from set backs, etc. Such a double-edged sword.

I wonder if you had known it was going to be your last competition whether you would have performed so well. Treating it as just another competition surely would have made it feel less pressurised. Regardless, you’re hugely talented Nile & thanks for everything you’ve done to make gymnastics relevant & valid as a sport.

Nile should join Cirque du Soleil to get back to performing and feeling the rush, but with the added fun of costumes and makeup and a bit less pressure since it's not scored, just enjoyed by the audience!

Nile, there's are part of you that I see, that are a parallel to what Adam Peaty is to swimming. He took the lead from Tennis's Billie Jean King and what she for competitors vs the establishment and created a better environment, a better monetary reward for the athletes. Maybe you are the man to do that for gymnastics. The fanbase is there. You Ash, Stoney and Joanna have proved that. I went mental at FIG, Brit Gymnastics and BBC Sport as to why it was left to you to introduce the new guys coming through the sport, like George, why we see nothing until they make the senior team. It's almost a Dickensian process to keep you gymnastics in place and do what you are told. Nile, on behalf of all us watchers and supporters out here, please do a Peaty and break the mould. DoI will give you that bigger platform. Return to gymnastics by ripping through the BS and shit you had to go through. There is enough of us out here that would fully back you. Joanna, I know he's massively into his DoI, but please show him this. Nile Wilson, than man who changed British Gymnastics and made them focused on the athletes not the hierarchy.
