I love Buca di Beppo. The portion sizes are huge. For instance, the small salad serves four or five people. I do not know how large the other ones are, but I'll bet they are HUGE.

The portion are extremely large and you don’t have to share because you can always take some home. The food is fantastic and the people there were friendly and nice. I was like I was at Morton’s Steakhouse because of their customer service. I love the Vegas location inside Excalibur.

Excellent time was had every single time we have gone. The Pontiff Room is a must with its large round table and the lazy-susan helps to get the food you are craving.

Now, I know why it's located in the basement (I always loved that it was in a basement). I've only been to the one in downtown Minneapolis. I used to go there all the time with my friends years ago when I lived in Loring park. There is a Saint Paul location, but, I have never been there. I'm sure it's just as good but I have no idea if that location is in a basement.

No, the St. Paul one isn't in a basement. It's at 2728 Gannon Blvd in the old Gannon's restaurant with previous address as 2728 W. 7th Blvd. They have a nice traditional Thanksgiving dinner (one can also order Italian if one chooses), and they're very busy that day. Last year I picked up T-day dinner there for my mother and me.

If you are an Italian American you don't really care if the food you are eating is totally authentic to Italy, you care that it tastes like great Italian American food. Oh I had a childhood filled with great Italian American food, I miss my great aunt Rosie's food, she was one of those Italian ladies that made every pasta you could think of and sold it to friends and relatives.

Except they are not proud of the American part of Italian American or they would say it. Truth in advertizing! Stop pertending to be soley Italian when they're not. It would show respect for both cultures. My grandparents were all Italian immigrants, so I enjoy American, Italian American, and Italian food. See, that wasn't so difficult.

In Orlando, our Buca used to be the Bubble Room. Although Buca was good, they didn't hold a candle to the Bubble Room. Very sad to see it go.

Never go there without at least 6 people. The food quality is far superior to other chain Italian places but I wish they didn't serve everything family style. My first time there, I had no idea what was happening when they started bringing so much food. I was planning on going out after dinner but had to carry bags of food home first and meet my friends later.

They may have been on top of their game a year ago, where portions were large and service was superior~ But in October 2022 at the Flamingo (Las Vegas) location, service has clearly passed them by~I booked a party for 12 a month in advance (a senior group) and they were ill-prepared to serve us~ Our server Kurt, should retire because he was condescending and indifferent to our needs~ Once our orders were taken, he left (literally) never to be seen again except to hand out our checks~ The food orders were all wrong, was cold, burnt and dry~ I spoke to the manager who made up 101 excuses like we were a large party, but they knew a month ahead of time we were coming~ So I called the VP of Corporate Affairs and while he was sincerely apologetic, I explained the "damage was done"~ This was supposed to be a birthday celebration for 6 ladies and Kurt dropped the ball on that too~ Never will I return, overpriced, food is frozen, fettuccine alfredo sauce was sparce, the eggplant parmesan was burnt, I could go on but a terrible experience all around~

Buca means HOLE and Beppo is a short form of Giuseppe, which means Joe. So Buca di Beppo means Joe's Hole. I don't know where you guys got your translation... but it seems wrong. And the name is more gimmicky than anything else, as no one in Italy... in their right minds... would ever name a restaurant such a name.

Never had worse Chicken Marsala than the mess they served at Buca Di Beppo. Just horribly sweet, the staff was unconcerned so we just sent it back without replacing it. I came here to see what I am missing, but once I hit the commercial breaks I just gave up.

The Marsala is SWEET. Now I know there is sweet Marsala wine, but I’m friends with several Italian restaurant owners and was only at BDB as part of a birthday party. We sent our Marsala back, the staff was indifferent, didn’t ask if we wanted to replace our entree. We left the party and hit Jack in the box on the way home lol.
