I think the general public NEEDS to STOP picking on Princess Anne. I personally think Anne is misunderstood & is probably a very, nice person once she feels as if you're trustworthy... Anne probably has to CONSTANTLY have her "guard up" cuz she's smart enough to unfortunately realize that MOST people want her for 1 reason & 1 reason ONLY. I sincerely hope that Anne is truly happy with her current partner... Anne, you were VERY LUCKY that you weren't outnumbered during your alleged kidnapping... Then again, life just isn't fair Anne & life never will be... All you can do is just move on in life cuz you don't have any other choice Anne.

I met the Princess Royal whilst at an archeological excavation on the Duke of Westminster's estate. She was walking her dogs and didn't realise we were there. She was lovely, genuinely pleased to find out we were excavating and asked lots of questions. She recalled all of our names, spoke to me about working in archaeology when I have mobility issues and asked the then 6th Duke why he hadn't mentioned it as she 'loves stuff like this'. I will always respect her for that, and she has an amazing sense of humour.

I loved your comment, gave me a delightful picture of the moment you described. I hope you are a writer as well, as your description was warm, vivid and so interesting. I can't help but wonder what you all found during your excavation! I live in Texas and on our ranch we have found fossils of dinosaur bones here and there, in the rocks along the riverbed. It never ceases to astonish me to hold something so ancient, from a time in earth's history I can scarcely imagine! It instilled in me a live of history. I can't think of a more fascinating job than discovering the past.🤩

@@christineparis5607 Thank you so much! I do write, yes, but as a ghostwriter for the moment. I gained some handy contacts this way so I have an in with some publishers when my own book is done. At this excavation we found a Victorian rubbish pit with hundreds and hundreds of pieces of crockery, glassware and other household glass waste. We also stumbled on a pet cemetery from the Georgian and early-Victorian era. It was marked on estate map about 100m too far from where it actually was. That was kind of heart-breaking but also seeing the little stone plaques crudely chiseled with names and dates on discarded pieces of masonry was emotive. These family pets were so beloved that a servant or groundskeeper took the time to make these grave markers for them, which surprised us purely because the belief that we love our pets way more than anyone did 200 years ago was blown away with that find.

Making sweeping statements like “everyone is entitled to their opinion” is ignorant, legally meaningless and just plain wrong in this context. _Nobody mentions the sad truth that she had to sacrifice true love for the monarchy...she fell deeply in love with a man who was not acceptable to the RF and therefore made the choice to honour the RF's wishes - that is why she has throw herself into her work._

She did give her life to her people. Maybe she wanted to live as a private person, or wanted to be doing something else. Her life in Malta as an officers wife was obviously one of the happiest times for her. She loved the freedom of living in Malta and interacting with others also stationed there. It was the last time I ever saw her laugh in public. I hope she realized how much she was cared about. I hope she knew how many lives were positively affected by her...

@@puddincup9879 She did not do those things. Those before her did, so it depends on whether you want to punish the innocent. Someone who had nothing to do with those despicable acts should not be held to pay for them, imo, and she reversed a lot of old laws to protect those under her commonwealth. She never put through a law to keep anyone from a fair chance. If you think she is responsible just for being born who she was, then you are pretty ruthless and unfair yourself. What do you think?
