One staple aspect of pseudoscience (including pseudoarcheology) is the idea that someone looks at something as a conclusion, then proceeds to look for the reasoning behind that conclusion. On the other hand, science first finds evidence and reasoning, then decides to come to a conclusion. This idea of looking at a conclusion, then looking for something to support that conclusion is specifically stated in this video when it is speaking on why Atlantis cannot be found anywhere on earth. In the video, it is said that one of the major flaws to the theory of Atlantis is that the city cannot be found anywhere on earth. Upon examining this fact, the researchers in the video needed to find some reason that supported the idea of the existence of Atlantis, so they then make the grand claim (as a side note, making grand claims is also a staple example of something being pseudoscientific) that the entire city of Atlantis was actually an alien spacecraft that just picked itself up and left earth. This would then provide an explanation as to why the city cannot be found anywhere on earth. Occam’s razor is the idea that when making a conclusion, the one that requires the fewest assumptions is probably the right one. However, in this video there are a lot of assumptions made about the past and people who lived in Atlantis. A more probable explanation for Atlantis is that it never existed in the first place. The main story of Atlantis came from Plato, who was a poet. Part of a poet’s job is to tell stories. So, it wouldn’t be a very big stretch to say that the initial recording of Atlantis by Plato was just him telling a fictional story. Compare this to the huge leaps in logic that come with the idea of ancient aliens coming down to create an alien-human hybrid race that then detected a cataclysmic event on earth causing them to fly away in their spaceship to return to their motherland, and it might seem like a much more plausible explanation.

Okay there wasn’t anything supernatural about it. It’s an exaggerated story by Plato about the size, rise and fall of the Minoan civilization which was pretty advanced for its time and due to a volcanic eruption, or great cataclysm as described for Atlantis, went into an economic downward spiral they couldn’t recover from.

If we are to suppose Critias’ description of Atlantis to be literal and not metaphor, then why do ancient astronaut theorists conclude that it rose to the heavens and not sink below the ocean as described? Because we have no evidence of the city anywhere on Earth it must be an alien spaceship. Wouldn't it make more sense to say that it could have just been a story that Plato told for entertainment? And If they had the technology to come to Earth with a floating city why would they leave and not return. Most of the other Greek stories that were told are just seen today as fiction so why is this specific story seen as true? And with the only proof being a story about an advanced city that has no location using the principle of Occam's razor I would say the simplest answer is that it is just a story and not to be taken seriously.

I’m sorry but I believe the topic of this video to be entirely false. While it is possible that there was a race of half extraterrestrial and half human hybrids living on an island far away from the rest of civilization, is it plausible? My mind goes to the way that would be documented by the actual people of Atlantis. If this civilization existed and these people were as advanced as they are stated to be, why is it that there are no recordings of anything written by an actual Atlantean? Also, why would the Atlanteans not leave behind remnants of their technology? According to Occam’s Razor, the answer that is most likely is the answer that requires the least amount of speculation. There’s just too much speculation around if Atlantis was even real at all let alone if Atlanteans were descendants of aliens. We have specifically made an entire organization called SETI to see if aliens are trying to send any signals to Earth. If the Atlanteans were half human and half extraterrestrial, why wouldn’t they try to communicate with us now? Why wouldn’t they come back to Earth after this so-called calamity was over and passed? Over the course of hundreds of years, the only known evidence of Atlantis has been in the writing of Plato and others that never had any proof that they’d been there or even seen an Atlantean or Atlantis. If we don’t believe in the mythology of Greek gods and gods of other pantheons in the world being real, why should we believe that Atlantis was real as well.

ARG ! Atlantis in my opinion was a special place and a special group of people God made. This is why they had all of these powers....they became bad , selfish, spoiled, entitled and started conquering.
