If you read what Plato wrote in the original Ancient Greek, you'll find that Plato wrote that Atlantis was an island on a lake/inland water body that was covered by water. Plato never wrote that Atlantis sank into the ocean. He wrote that the island of Atlantis was covered by water, subsided and created an impassable barrier of mud to sailors. I've used Plato's description of Atlantis along with etymology, local cultural history and religion, etc., in order to help confirm the capital of Atlantis's location by applying scientific method to where numerous experts say that Atlantis's capital is.

I like to believe that the Eye of the Sahara is Atlantis if we take into account of the 9000 years ago from Plato's time it would be about 12,000 years ago ish. With the Younger Dryas period occurring around then which likely elevated sea levels by several hundred feet and then washed back away it would have created a huge desert in the western African coast which we see today. If Atlantis really is from beyond the pillars of Hercules then the Eye would have been a great spot for Atlantis as it would have fit the description given pretty well. @BoobaDoo The video begins by speaking of the ancient war that was in the heavens. It's a war that destroyed a planet that is now an asteroid belt. This war also wiped away the atmosphere of Mars. There is a satellite in geocentric orbit called the dark knight satellite.It's believed to be 35,000 year old. There are 500,000 year old very large hollowed out caves from pole shifts, called a magma dome. hese are often used for expanding and building underground cities. Justwatch videos from Phil Schneider Then you will recognize the evil & demonic nature of the aliens. Atlantis is quite real. It's last location in the time before this age of mankind was located at the southern tip of South America. During the last pole shift, Norway for example was alogned east west... not north south as it is now. The planet shifted and placed Atlantis 1,260 miles south, and today this is known as Neuschwabenland. ALL the evil on earth is done ( combined with good works) for people that are possessed in the spirit, by these aliens, and these aliens are fallen angels ! All the highest levels of every secret agency & government on earth all know about this ! The underground cities, will become the graves of the globalists that will have taken the mark and by earth quakes, be sealed up in these many underground cities never to rise again, as they have in the past. They mingled their seed with that of mankind, to corrupt us that we could not return to heaven as the spirit being we are. To alter the DNA, which was why the planet was flooded, accept for 8 people. These beings continued, and Greek mythology has examples of them, as also the giants which Joshua made war with to cleans the promised land, given to all Israel and shall not be divided. Now in these last days, the globalists use the vaccines, just as in 1918, to spread plagues, so they can use the quantum dot nano chip to overtake a person, altertheir DNA, and have them within the hive mind, as this is the mark of the BEAST.

The Canary Islands is at the spot where Plato said Atlantis was. When the Spaniards went to the Islands the inhabitants said they thought they were the only survivors of a huge disaster which sounds to me like a Tsunami. I'm of the opinion that Ancient Greeks and other seagoing people got this story from these people and the tale grew with the telling.
@otherhalf2285 жыл бұрын
wrong. wrong. your all wrong. well.. mostly. please do your research accurately so that you can be.. CORRECT in the future. (no disrespect but let's keep our assumptions down to pure research) Plato's story came from one of his predecessors. they.. having traveled to Egypt.. got the story from the Egyptian priests. who made the claim of an ancient empire 9000 years prior to this time. "THIS" time. 9000 years prior to.. a century before Plato maybe two? that takes us back to the end of the last ice age. the time is important because it goes back to a prior time of a long-forgotten epoch. this is of course.. In comprehendible for people fooled by the timeline of the flood and all Biblical timelines all together. the temples at Gobekli Tepe prove this. emphatically. and absolutely destroy the timeline of 4004 BCE being the age of Adam and Eve. it is true they may have been hunter gatherers. but it is false that they go back only 4004 BCE. people forget that Adam lived as much as 930 years. all the old patriarchs lived for 10 times. the normal lifespan. skewing what we assume is a generation. a generation at that point may have been a century if not several. this makes any timeline tied to the biblical Genesis completely irrelevant. sure you could follow Adams genealogy. but, Adam didn't exactly live 120 years. even if science tries to assume that he did. educated guess? More like educated assumptions. hardly. people are jumping the gun. giza was only found what in the 1800's? there's still more buried underneath. their saying more possibly 90% more of the plateau. after more than a century? Proof that we still know nothing. the problem is people don't READ correctly. and assume the world map looked exactly the same in those days and 9000 years prior as it does today. when there is geological proof that the continents themselves and the oceans shifted up and down throughout the Millennia. esPECIALLY at the end of the last ice age. a potential cataclysm may have also caused a Shifting of continents and the sea levels. perhaps multiple cataclysms. while scientists believe the Santorini volcano may be behind the Atlantis myth. the time line I'm afraid does not fit. why is it so hard to believe that it is exactly as Plato stated. WHERE he stated it was. because there's nothing in the Atlantic? raise the sea levels flood parts of Africa. and all the sudden it becomes part of the Atlantic. beyond the pillars of Hercules? uh yeah. you just have to picture what it would have looked like 9,000 years prior to when the story was first passed down. in fact recently a very interesting site was observed in the area of Mauritania. known locally as the eye of Africa. the site fits the EXACT dimensions of Plato's Atlantis. and may be the Smoking Gun that people are looking for. as I stated before the problem is the geology. if the geology and geography can be matched to Plato's exact descriptions. the mystery will be solved. it may not be the Canary Islands but that is interesting. interesting fact that the survivors may just HAVE escaped to the Canary Islands. with it possibly the only place nearby to take refuge. ...it's still the dawn of the next big find. Atlantis is still out there. we may just find in this lifetime

There are more details about this. For some reason a lot of people talk about the comet theory, but actually there is also the coronal mass ejection theory. Right now the exact cause is still unknown. It could be both, as they are compatible. But what is in agreement is that there is strong evidence from Greenland ice core dating, etc. that a sudden rise in temperature caused all kinds of havoc on Earth and probably wiped out a previous civilization. The fact that Plato's dating of Atlantis 11600 years ago conincides with the end of younger dryas is enough to raise eyebrows. vimeo.com/148164388

Finally a video about Atlantis that says that there was a WAR. If you accept the myth of Atlantis you have to read all that Plato says. The ancient Athenians (Athens has a vast history,with names like Akti or Kekropia or Attiki or many other mythical names). Plato uses the name of the goddess Athena (who took part in this great war) and speaks of Athens because he is talking to the Athenians of his time.There were allies (and probably mercenaries) and after a terribly destructive battle where the goddess Athena hurled enormous rocks (!),the Atlanteans lost. Shortly after, however, there were terrible earthquakes. Originally the Hellenes and the Atlanteans were close relatives. The offspring of Poseidon however became tyrants and had enslaved many nations, becoming cruel and inhuman and a menace to humanity. This is the basic outline of the whole myth that Plato wrote. The names of the seas have changed, there was the Kronian Sea. One has to study the meaning of the names to get the era Plato was referring to. This of course applies to whatever we read about antiquity. I assume that the great age of the god Kronos was over or fighting for its survival.

The only problem with bringing Athens into it is that Athens was nothing back then. Literally just a hovel for neolithic wanderers at best. The works of the Aegean ruling Minoans were great far earlier than that of mainland Greece, but even they did not rise to prominence until about 4,500 years ago before their downfall after the Theran eruption about a thousand years later leading to the Hellenic Greeks Mycenaean ancestors annexing Crete and the survivors of the Minoan civilisation into their own developing culture.

The Richat Structure is CLEARLY the most likely location of the lost city of Atlantis. After some research (listening to pro and con arguments), I am confident you'll agree. -From the geological features, to the gold and copper deposits even in modern day Mauritania, to evidence of NON-fossilized fish and whale bones on the surface (means there was water thousands, not millions of years ago), to remains of elephants there as described by Plato. -Atlas was the first king of Atlantis, and modern day Mauritania credits a man named Atlas as their first ruler. -The Structure is south of the Atlas Mountains. Heck, even the "Father of History", Herodotus, puts Atlantes there on the his map of the world in the same location. PLEASE go and investigate it for yourself. Visiting Atlantis is a good doc, but Bright Insight presents it best for today's viewers. In what I thought was such an open minded community of researchers searching for truth, I am shocked and disappointed to see some coordinated push to throw shade on the most obvious location.

In January 2021, Luigi Usai, an independent researcher, released a new hypothesis according to which the sinking of Atlantis is due to the sudden melting of the ice following the glaciation called Würm. Geologists know that the level of the Mediterranean Sea reached -120 meters below the current level about 14,000 years ago. The so-called "Messinian salinity crisis" is also well known, during which Sardinia and Corsica were joined due to the lowering of the sea level by over a hundred meters, and it was possible to travel between them on foot. During the period of the war that broke out between Atlantis and Greece, that is, in 9600 BC, that is, about 11,600 years ago, geologists know that Sardinia and Corsica and a large part of the currently submerged coasts formed what appeared to be a large island, which was called in the third chapter of Timaeus and in Critias by Plato with the name of Atlantis.[125][126] At the center of the Atlantis plain and enclosed by the current Campidano plain, there would be what was the capital of Atlantis, also known by the name of Atlantis but today known by the name of Sulcis, and which started from a hill near the small village of Santadi and Masainas and Teulada, forming concentric circles of land and sea. It is still possible to notice how, starting from Santadi, the entire urban plan develops in concentric circles, even portions of mountains. There is also a vast toponymy related to the myth of Atlantis. In fact, as Usai points out, next to Santadi there are many places whose name recalls the hot and cold water sources created by Poseidon, who according to Usai was a simple man, probably a King, and not a God. Poseidon, placed a hot water source and a cold water source in the Capital of Atlantis. In fact, even today there are some hamlets of towns called "Acquacadda." (Hot Water, in the Campidanese Sardinian language), S'acqua callenti de basciu. (The Hot Water Below, in the Campidanese Sardinian dialect) and S'Acqua Callenti de Susu (The Hot Water Above, also in the Campidanese Sardinian dialect, the dialectal variant of the Sardinian language spoken in southern Sardinia), while in the nearby town of Siliqua the Zinnigas cold water source is still present today. Also in Siliqua, a small town also located in the province of Cagliari, the "Castello d'Acquafredda" still exists, currently known for the famous story told by Dante Alighieri about Count Ugolino, who had stayed there according to a legend passed down orally. The Acquafredda castle takes its name from the medieval town of Acquafredda, which disappeared a few centuries ago, whose name recalls the cold water source of Poseidon, while in the province of Carbonia Caput Acquas insists on the theme of water. Furthermore, Usai points out,Poseidon's tridents have been found carved in Neolithic and Paleolithic rocks found near the town of Laconi, in Sardinia. Next to Santadi there is a town called Narcao, which has two hamlets, called "Is Sais Superiore" and "Is Sais Inferiore"; this is a clear reference according to Usai, to the city of Sais in Egypt, where the high priest Sonchis revealed the story of Atlantis to Solon, the famous Greek politician. Furthermore, Sais is also a Sardinian surname. There are still two other interesting toponyms: Acqua Callentis[127] (another way of saying "Hot Water" in the Campidanese and Sulcitano Sardinian dialect), also known by the name of "Is Perdas" (i.e. "The Stones"): this location also recalls the sources of hot and cold water placed by Poseidon in the Platonic myth; and the locality of Terresoli (a crasis of Terra De Soli, or Land of the Sun in Sardinian Campidanese and Sulcitano) which closely resembles the name of Eliopolis, another city linked to the myth of Atlantis: in fact while Eliopolis in Greek means City of the Sun, Terresoli [128] means Land of the Sun. The locality of Piscinas is also found in Sulcis and takes up the theme of flooding: in Sardinian in fact this term is used to indicate a place where there has been an enormous stagnation of water. Usai's theory, which takes the name of "Sardinian-Corsican Atlantean paradigm", states that the species of elephants that Plato speaks of in Timaeus and Critias is that of the Mammuthus Lamarmorai, present on the Sardinian-Corsican island which is currently half-submerged, and of which remains have been found in at least three places in present-day Sardinia: in Gonnesa, in Sinis and in Alghero. At the end of the story of Atlantis, in the Timaeus, Plato states that the island was surrounded by mud that prevented navigation: this would have been caused by the erosion of the Sardinian-Corsican continental shelf by millennia of undertow. The island of Atlantis was the largest of all, according to Plato: in fact the Sardinian-Corsican geological block was an island of emerged land and is in fact the largest of all those in the Western Mediterranean, which according to Usai was called the Atlantic Ocean even before papyrus and scrolls dealing with geography were made, which is why no memory remains, and geography was later modified. In Atlantis there were the oldest old people: in fact Sardinia, which would only be an emerged plateau of Atlantis, is still famous throughout the world for its people of centenarians[129], in particular the population of the blue zone of Perdas De Fogu[130] [131] [132] [133]. Atlantis was rich in minerals, and in fact the mines of Sulcis are the oldest in Europe[134]. The Atlanteans were "tower builders" according to Platonic dialogues:and in fact there are over 7000 nuraghi present and studied and hundreds of others are continually discovered but not excavated. Usai also states that the ancient literary text of the Meropide deals with the island of Atlantis as a semi-submerged Sardinian-Corsican block: currently, however, all official texts consider the Meropide only a parody of the Platonic texts. The discovery in the rock shelter at Su Carroppu di Sirri of three ancient Sardinian individuals[135], two of whom have given the possibility of analyzing ancient DNA, has shown that this population of Sulcis does not date back to 8000 years ago as initially believed[136], but rather dates back to 11000 years ago[137], and the war between Atlantis and the first Greece mentioned in the Timaeus and the Critias broke out, according to Plato, 11600 years ago: this would seem to be a confirmation of the presence of a Sardinian population in the period in which the story of Atlantis is placed. The DNA found is different from the DNA of the Neolithic population that colonized the island of Sardinia about three thousand years later, and the analysis has shown that these populations of 11,000 years ago preyed on marine resources, that is, they ate seafood and lived along the coasts, in accordance with Usai's Atlantean paradigm. Plato states that in Atlantis they built using stones of three colors: black, red and white; the black stones would be obsidian[138] [139], in particular that of Monte Arci[140], which Sardinia exported throughout Europe for thousands of years and slate, the red rocks would be those of Arbatax[141] and Carloforte and others submerged in the Sardinian-Corsican paleocoasts. In the summer of 2024, archaeological works at the Nuraghe Miali of Pompu[142] brought to light black basalt ashlars which show the Nuragic habit of creating chromatic effects in architecture through the alternation of stones of various colours, in accordance with what Plato stated. The same phenomenon was found and certified at the Nuraghe Arrubiu[143] and the Nuraghe Palmavera and the Nuragic Palace of Barumini. The Pillars of Hercules would be the Faraglione Antiche Colonne of Carloforte[144] [145] as proposed by Giorgio Saba, still existing and of very ancient history[146], and not the Strait of Gibraltar as believed up to now by most theories: beyond the Pillars of Hercules of Carloforte therefore, there was a narrow port, that is the small port formed by the islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro, and outside this small port there was the real sea, called in Timaeus and Critias also Atlantic Ocean, but today called Western Mediterranean. The Sardinian-Corsican Atlantean paradigm proposes that the Atlanteans populated the Sardinian-Corsican continental platform currently semi-submerged in the Mediterranean, forced then to migrate when the eustatic level rose drastically [147], perhaps due to repeated Meltwater Pulses[148] [149],distributed over several millennia. These migrations would then take various names: Sumerians and Vascons, among others, giving rise to the megalithic civilization along the coasts of all Europe. In support of this Usai states that these peoples have agglutinative Semitic languages, an "Atlantean" characteristic; the Basques in fact have prehistoric carnival figures similar to the Sardinian ones because both peoples "come from Atlantis", that is, from the semi-submerged Sardinian Corsican geological block: the Joaldun[150], the Mamuthones, the Boes and the Merdules. Furthermore, the Basques would have brought the tradition of the bulls described by Plato in Timaeus and Critias, bulls that were venerated and respected in Atlantis, to Pamplona in Navarre the use of the Encierro, which then changed into the Spanish bullfight.

It feels like a theme story you tell of where your people came from but because it's so far removed in time your culture has transferred it to the fantastic.

@ - What if there were original sources that were burned in the Library of Alexandria? Perhaps Plato (and few others) are the only surviving references?

These sort of contemporary mythical descriptions feel like the equivalent of fantasy literature of the ancient world. Idyllic landscapes filled with noble and radiant people and their achievements, great cities of splendour and mythical legends filled with fantastic beings, gods and impossible events. People seem to have always longed for such fantastical worlds of fiction.
