This is exactly what you should do if you really want to get to know a place better, but the problem is that people tend to visit the most famous tourist spots either because they are advertised more or because they don't have much time to explore.

First, I would like to thank you Dan for taking us to this side of Korea in Incheon. We all know that in every country places that were well-known and busy in the late 90s nowadays, they are like ghost places. This is sad not only in Korea but in other places also it's because of new development etc... Yaa I can see you were very afraid and upset in some places still you did that for us to see. Really appreciate your courage. Well, sometimes in those places we have a dish that really tastes good which brings us old memories. Thank you.

I was so close to visiting South Korea and Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture performer and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan and visit South Korea.

Very interesting stroll you took us with you and also a very realistic part of Korea, transparent and raw. I`d say no wonder you got scared so often, at times it looked very deserted like something from a Sci-Fi movie and since you`ve never been there, you have no idea what`s behind that corner. 🧟♂😂 Those small alleys with the colored floors and the wall art are so gorgeous, love them! Hearing you talk about your childhood memories was nice and I`m glad you had some quality time with your Dad. 🙌😊My most favorites: The sunset (no surprise 😉) and watching you eat and drink something you like. 😅 I recognized the cafe at the end from a previous Live. 😇😄 Danny, I have to repeat myself, it shows all over you how excited and happy you are that you`ve started this and how you enjoy it. So happy for you! 🙌😊

Hello Danny, This vlog was enjoyable and also an eye opening. Unfortunately, nowadays, many important cities around the world are suffering with the same problems of people in need on the streets. It is just one coin with two sides, one is the beauty of a city whereas the other side is the not so pretty side of it. Thank you for sharing the old town two sides of the city.🙏it’s not your fault 🤨so don’t feel bad. The city itself is a Time Capsule⏱️suitable for historical facts. What a magnificent sunset you have in your footage, I just enjoy sunsets🌅 a lot😊I am glad that you had some quality time with your dad, having a meal together is to have a strong bound between father and son. Once again very entertaining and informative. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey into your childhood. Otherwise, we tourists would probably never see such alleys and places. Your dad, the man in the red shirt😊, did a great job. It must have been a special day for him too. Above all, I 'm always amazed when you bravely walk into every narrow or empty alley with your camera. Was it still cold? Sometimes I somehow had the impression that you were freezing. I love tteokbokki, but eating with metal chopsticks gives me a lot of cramps. Sometimes the tteokbokki just slip away from me.😅 And I hope for videos about the Zaneuk ( and maybe Itaewon?). Wah! Thank You for this. For me it is amazing video. Now I want to visit Korea even more. This vlog is so real and raw, and actually those real places fascinate me the most ^^ The “pretty, perfect, shiny, …artificial” places don’t hold that much place in my heart. Now I’m sure I’ll come to visit Incheon old town, when I travel to Korea ( when WE travel ^^ cause I’m coming with my momma ..someday ;P. She finally found a fascination for Korea, and already read my books about Your country. XD sometimes I suspect she knows more than me ;) Ah and I believe this weird feeling that you get( besides the sadness that the place and the people might not do so well) it might be the melancholy. Cause as You said- it is partly a place of Your youth - so it might be a nostalgia for the olden times and the younger You. ^^ that how it was for me when I visited my hometown. Anyway, thank You for this amazing story:)

I found that really interesting Dan. I don't need to see glossy, touristy things - reality is always more interesting. Places change over time, and often not for the best. And in so many countries mental health and homelessness issues have exploded in recent years. I'm in Australia and its shocking seeing how many people now are in horribly challenging situations living on the streets and how little safety they have. I hope we all take the approach of compassion rather than fear.

I felt the nostalgic feeling when you described it. And the disappointment of how people suddenly can suffer in areas where you used to flourish as a youth. Sometimes is hard to accept the dynamics in our societies, especially if you're an INFJ. We're very open to new things and innovations, but conservative at the same time. Caring about traditions etc. We have homeless people in Sweden as well. But some of them actually want that because of the freedom. A saw a homeless guy that was 75. He looked like 50...

There are so many homeless and rude people. It's uncomfortable. And it's really not representative of foreigners :-( 10:34 If you want some dessert but you're full, ice cream is the solution! Homelessness is really sad. There is the misconception that homeless people are "bad" people who are on the streets because they choose to live a life of vices (alcohol, drugs, etc.) but in reality, the majority of homeless people are mentally ill people and those that self medicate their mental illness with alcohol. They aren't awful people, they just slip through the cracks or don't have families willing to take care of them. I always try and feel empathy for them before making judgments. The fact that Danny felt sad just shows that he's an empathetic person that cares about the places and people, even if he can't express why he felt that way.

Dan, homeless is not just a Korean problem it's a world wide problem and it's only getting worse at least here in the US. How much were the mixed drinks you had?

it’s a worldwide issue for sure but the parts where I live, you barely see them so I was taken back when I saw and felt sad. the cocktails from the last place? it’s depends but it’s like 10-20usd I think.

Time changes and we grow older. I believe that we notice our surroundings more and we think of life deeper. In my city there are homeless people too. There are shelters for homeless people and people donate stuff to the people. Even the government help the people. I hate when I see another person sleep on the dirty ground in a ruined sleeping bag smell of their own urine :( Most of the homeless people use to have a normal life and then they are trash to the society. I really hate the system to allow this happening. I can't imagine how tough life on the street must be! I was eating when I saw the part of the video where you almost got scared of everything. I nearly spit my food out because I laugh a lot. Even the Cat scares you 😂 I guess I should not invite you to a haunted house 😂😂😂 I like how you guide us around in Incheon and show us the ups and downs of the area, even educate us. It must be exiting to go back in time by discovering your own city by showing it to us :) By the way I understand what you mean by Fish is difficult to eat. I nearly got a fishbone stuck in my throat. It was scary. Even though I still like seafood a lot :) Don't worry bird poo brings good luck 😂 I often get them. So rude, like if I am a toilet 🙈 The system is so modern in South Korea compared to where I live. I heard in the news that South Korea will have robots in the hospital 😳 The food in the last place looks so delicious. I would love to try it. I love eating, esp. from other cultures. Love cozy bars. Looks really nice. I look forward for your next video. Good work 🙏
