This Hyrule Castle is what it truly should be if Ganon was really competent. It’s way too easy to go in when you play the normal game but this one is so intense it’s an actual challenge designed to be almost impossible for intruders to try and attack the beast. I love it

If you ever break or otherwise lose a weapon you are doing something wrong (as in, it hurts to lose part of your collection). the master sword was a godsend in the game, as you could finally fight normal enemies too (without having to resort to magnesis or bombs), before that you had to limit yourself to lyonels and parrying lasers. Still annoying that it gets disabled for a while every few enemies though, at which point its back to either ignoring them or slowly sapping their hp with bombs. Seriously, attacking something head on (without mastersword) is like using potions in regular rpg's. Will admit I used a lot in botw, because the world is so large and link is so slow that I constantly needed to chug speed potions. And stamina food can be considered consumable key items, as it lets you get into new areas. But normally using consumables in an rpg is a big nono, as you are no doubt aware.

These monsters are born when gold bokoblins are affected by the radiation caused by sheikah technology, which explains their resistance to ancient weapons. The good news is that they will drop their body parts when hit with an ancient arrow. They're not only called "Diamond" because of their coloring, but to denote their rarity. The cyan markings help them stand out even more.

Fun fact! Using multi-shot bows with bomb arrows, do not do 3-5 times the damage of a single bow, the other arrows are extremely nerfed. It seems that almost nobody knows this fact, but I don’t entirely discourage it because it looks hella cool.

@@ashley_bl2 Well, now that you mention it, I think that (and the other thing, increased durability hits) depends on the enemy's damage output. Which might mean that it actually does matter against some of the enemies in Relics, which probably have crazy boosted attack power. I'm not doing any extra research, but you can figure that out if you want. Anyway, I just mean that most people rarely use or notice the shield abilities that shield guard has anything to do with. The main thing people care about is durability (in which the Hylian Shield starts out waaay ahead of the competition), and since the game doesn't display that, it's hard to know if they altered or boosted it. (Boosting it probably wouldn't make a difference either, at least for such a short playthrough in which you're unlikely to make a dent in the initial 900.)

I've certainly never considered it. The main quality we mostly look for in a shield is durability, and while shield guard does affect how strong hits damage the shield, the actual durability number is more meaningful.

Tips for Sword Lynel Harvesting: 0, weapons: Bring a high damage weapon (despite its durability), a 30-40 damage sword, the Hylian Shield, and a Triple Shot or Ancient Bow. Daruk's Protection and Urbosa's Fury are nice to have, as electricity stuns the beast (like most things) and it has some tricky attacks. 1, atop the back: Always use your most OP weapons when on the back (it doesn't drain durability) and always start out with a shot to the head. 2, arrows: When in doubt, shoot for the head. If you're behind, you can land a crit by shooting around the second lowest mane spike, and if it's in front, most of its attacks it has to retreat for. 3, attacks: Triple swing is your best friend. Don't get the timing right? You can still try twice more. Charge swing is deceptively a sidestep, but you gotta backflip. You either perfect parry fireballs or accept the stun period. If you're feeling cocky, try to perfect parry the half-health fire attack. It does this almost every time it gets to below 50% health. For the charge, just sidestep. For the running slash, it depends on the angle. If it pulls out its bow, run directly at it if it's aiming up, or zigzag if it's aiming directly. If it does shield/sword swipe, backflip. 4, the don'ts: Don't perfect parry, you get like 4 hits in and it's more effective to perfect dodge (Extra hits and it goes still for a small bit). Don't run in to attack, unless it's extra close and not winding up for an attack. Don't waste time jumping off of its back, you can let of a few arrows despite the stamina draining. Don't think this guide teaches everything, but remember it's a good place to start. The strategy doesn't take much adapting for other Lynel types.
