Music was not useful :( I would rather liked a clear voiceover instructions so I could actually do it while listening.

I followed whatever bleeding tutorial when I got my unit and haven't had any issues. Should I re-bleed my system or is this something some customers have had issues with?
@Tiberius_I2 ай бұрын
If the jack works there's probably no reason to bleed them again.

Of course this comes out AFTER I bled both of my QJ's. So what's the difference? Doing both rails at the same time?

Totally different now. No blocks under the lift and loosen bleed screws prior to raising. So much easier now.

What are the key updates? And why?

I'm having trouble with bleeding/setup. When I press the up button, the compressor tries, but the jack does not lift at all. Time to call support again.

It is such a simple procedure if you actually think about it. with the cylinders all the way down there’s virtually no space at the bottom of the cylinder for air to be trapped. You’re bleeding the air out of the pump unit and the hoses. blocking the jack up in the air doesn’t do any good. If you let the jack raise up, you’re just allowing air to go into the cylinder. Just bumped the up button a few times and purge the air out of the unit and the hoses through the bleed screw. it would’ve been nice if they would have put a bleeder instead of just a threaded screw. People seem to make it more complicated than it used to be.

Placing the QJ onto the blocks so it sits on a angle will help the air to escape with less restriction as compared to sitting flat on the floor. That's the way I bleed my QJ.

What I want to know is who is responsible for putting those wheels on the car. [BTW, I love my QJ 5000 TL]

I've been thinking of buying this thing but it would take an awful lot of use to pay for itself. Considering the last maintenance bill on my Lexus Ls460 was almost $1000 though, this jack becomes even more attractive. For people who actually buy and use one of these - please heed the warnings and DO put down jackstands as a backup support! If even one side of this jack fails, if the latches don't stop the jack from collapsing and the car falls, it could kill you a whole lot faster than you can scramble out from underneath. Yes it has the locking latch system which PROBABLY would prevent it from falling. But even so, that doesn't change my safety concerns one bit. I was a fleet mechanic for 30 years, saw enough pneumatic failures happen to never trust them, and I urge you, please please PLEASE don't depend on the latches, and place jack stands underneath when you jack up your car with this!

If you use these correctly they're far safer than using a jack and jackstands and they're the best garage investment I've ever made by far for the sheer convenience alone. You just have to use them properly and you won't ever be in any danger. For example, having one side of the jack fail and then counting on the latch should never be an issue because you absolutely are *never* supposed to use them without having lowered them onto those latches first anyway. Hydraulic failure should never be an issue since the hydraulics should never be used to support the vehicle beyond actively lifting it anyway. As a bonus this means when you use it properly you can remove the hydraulic hoses to get them out of the way once the car has been lifted and lowered onto the latches. Those latches have been tested to over 16,000 pounds on their 5,000 pound model without failure so it's not like they're anywhere near the limits of safety. (see link below) Follow their pretty basic safety instructions and don't do something stupid like using them if you managed to damage them and you're much safer under these and are way less likely to damage your car while lifting/lowering it. Honestly, the quick release connectors have always been a source of big headaches for me. I had my car stuck in the up position because i could not reconnect the quick release. The only way was to open the bleeder valve and get saturated with hydrologic fluid. I never disconnected those things again.

You need to bleed the pressure off and use the locks. You won’t be able to reconnect them with pressure in the lines. It discusses this in the manual.
@thebrassbandit4 ай бұрын
Someone didn't read the manual deep enough. You got them off easy because once you unlocked them, hydraulic force ejected them and they self-sealed. That same hydraulic force prevented you from hooking them back up. This is why you're supposed to lower it onto the locks before disconnecting the fittings; so that there's no hydraulic pressure in the system.
