I'm so glad I found your channel a few months ago. They are fun to watch and I'm learning so much about saltwater aquariums. I've had mine for 3 years now and feel that I finally got the hang of it. I'm still learning and learn a lot from yourself. Plues, I love Noodle!!!

Love your videos man, from a fellow reefer in Canberra. So calming and I like your perfectionism with everything you do! I’m running the Great White GW7+ skimmer on my WB60.2. Looking to get a 105.4 or 130.4 down the road, so keenly following your journey 🙂

New sand will do that, I added about 10lbs of crushed coral and I had an outbreak of diatoms, which a lot of people say is good actually. Diatoms is a building block to other bacteria. As for the skimmer, I just drain it 1-2 times a week as needed. I am too lazy to clean the cup and neck every week, I do it about 3-4 weeks. Keep an eye on your salinity because a lot of wet skim will lower it without you knowing it. Looks good and love noodle. He is a puppy and is not off the walls, impressed.

Great video. The music with the printed explanations. I do like how you got it all to work wel. I have a friendly suggestion, and maybe you did this, and that is to pre rinse and soak all equipment, before placing them into the tank. THere are manufacturing chemicals and oils that are a part of all plastics and metals. Thanks for the video. Awesome

I clean the cup and neck every 2 weeks and the pump once a month. I have it connected to an Avast Skimmate Locker so the Skimmate drains into a larger container that has a carbon filter to help with the stink. This will also prevent overflows because it has a pressure switch that turns the skimmer off if it's full. I empty that about once a month.
@BlueReefTank2 жыл бұрын
Love this automation idea!

@bluereeftank Dont stress over the tap water rinsing. I've been using tap water for 5 years plus in the hobby. I honestly have had no issues after the first year. Granted it all depends on how harsh your water is but I am in the city so mine can not be that good. I just run it with a uv sterilizer and prime dechlorinater for 24 hours before a water change. Depending on your water source RODI units can sometimes remove to much from the water

Now I don't know what I like more, your new aquarium or your puppy. My dog (more than a dog, a son) the one you see on my profile, died three months ago after sharing with me for more than 17 years. Aquariums have helped me a lot to get through that episode. I still work on my marine fish tank. Unfortunately I still don't think I have it ready for corals :-(

I really like your content and your way of zen filmmaking. It inspired me to start tracking and filming my own tank progress as a kind of vlog. Not ready for youtube yet. How do you film keeping the colors? I get very blue footage. Do you use an orange filter or change the light settings when filming? I use my Iphone 13 pro.

Superb video as always. I really like the colour and size of the new sand. Not sure if that's available in the UK? Cyanobacteria looks horrendous, but like you say it's a waiting game for the beneficial bacteria to outcompete. Looking forward to the next instalment 🙂👍

Check your phosphate level. I think your nutrients could be imbalanced due to the new sand and that's why you could have cyano problems.
