Okay... 1. Jack has been in multiple bands before at once, and has been associated with many acts. As a teen he was in the Fuck Ups, he also performed with the Hentchmen and The Go, was with Goober and The Peas, The White Stripes THEN The Upholsterers while STILL IN The White Stripes. Then came The Raconteurs and now The Dead Weather.

This record isn't as early as some of you guys think. It came out in 2000, the same year as DeStijl. The White Stripes formed in 1997. The confusing part is that Jack and Muldoon were in an earlier band called Two Part Resin. This Upholsterers record came out after The White Stripes had become a popular local/regional band with some buzz around them (but hadn't hit the national/international big time yet).
@sercastamere9853 Жыл бұрын
So at this point Jack had already completed his apprenticeship with Muldoon, then. This is just them making music as friends
@hangman199515 жыл бұрын
@iluvjackwhitemost jack was playing with brian for a while before they released this single, so yes even though the white stripes first album was released a year before this was, jack was playing with muldoon before he and meg made the white stripes
@KyleChamberlin2312 жыл бұрын
while you are correct that this isn't the "beginning" it was a very early example of Jack's song writing. Goober and the Peas was technically his "beginning" but he was just the drummer and had no creative input. while I agree that "The White Stripes" released in 1999 is the most pure example of Jack's early song writing and performance art, this helps to illustrate the versatility Jack display from early on.

This sounds so much like early White Stripes. The drums are a bit more intense though. It's not too hard to see the continuity in Jack's musical style from this to the Dead Weather, though.

No, that's not what he meant. If you hit a guitar string hard enough, it will go slightly sharp and/or flat, which you can hear here. So fucking intense XD!
