since we found out in S1 that Tanjiros dad is named Tanjuro we can deduct by that alone that the flash back is just ancestors we can also Deduct that Upper 1 is also not the Samurai from the dream either since Muzan is not afraid of him but any time the unknown samurai appeared to Daki which is muzans memory we see him being afraid

Well. Daki was not her real name , her real name was Ume . So Tanjuro can change his name to kokushibo ,it is possible . Also many people dont know that Inosuke can call people by their real name once in 7 times , thats why they are surpised when he says the name correctly . by that i mean ,not many people remember the stuffs from the clips after credits . Also , anime is not so clear about the Muzan's fear with that unknown samurai as people claim it to be . We havent seen Muzan face to face against Koksushibo , maybe muzan doesnt want to see him cuz of his ptsd . There are so many theories . so let people make these theories , it is better that way , It creates even better reaction

@@YoualrightboiI disagree it is very clear Muzan has ptsd or atleast very strong memories associated with this slayer, and he showed no fear for upper moon 1. In fact the fact that daki didn’t recognize the slayer in her memories actually points further that Uppermoon 1 isn’t the slayer. Plus this episode shows us that they have different scars/markings as well as voices. Also no changes have been made to the uppermoons for over a century. Thus it can’t be Tanjuro since he passed away within the century.

@@longnameincoming1219 I disagree , Muzan showed no ptsd when he was clearly in front of Tanjiro in season 1 , He was just right beside him wearing those earrings . And Upper 1 was hiding his face and himself from Muzan. Maybe thats why no ptsd . Also Daki was more surprised by the sudden memories not by the samurai . upper 5 also knew about tanjiro having similar marks and he questioned about Muichiro having marks too . even though upper 1 had marks too People dont look same after becoming demons , the marks must have grown , the major point is him having marks .

When Daki is fighting Tanjiro solo and his stance/speech triggers a memory of a swordsman from Muzan's past (because she was seeing Muzan's memories through his cells. All demons carry Muzan's blood), it literally gave her PTSD, which meant Muzan deeply feared that swordsman (presumably an ancient demon slayer). Why would he fear that swordsman if he's sitting right there having a conversation with him in the infinity castle as his upper one? So upper one has to be someone else, but your speculation that he's a fallen/corrupted former demon slayer (like Anakin Skywalker --> Vader) makes the most sense. But I also appreciate you not thinking he's Tanjiro's dad like so many other channels did. Yup. Tanjiro's dad. Who was already a demon who attended the last meeting of the uppers 113 years ago (facepalm).

Just to clear you out sth guys. Kokushibo ( Uppermoon 1 ) and the mysterious swordsman who wears the earrings and goes all in red are not the same person, even tho they look alike. Also that mysterious person isn't Tanjiro's father When tanjiro had that dream, he saw a memory, but not his exactly, it was his ancestor. That was all I wanted to say because people got so cunfused with that character

At the end of the day, the true identity of the flashback guy is still a mystery. Koyoharu has not revealed any concrete information about him, and his motivations remain unclear. And, the reason why Muzan is afraid of one of his own demon subordinates is a question that only Koyoharu can answer. However, the possibilities listed above provide some intriguing food for thought. Data from this episode without spoilers: 1- Ubuyashiki is the master of the Hashiras. 2- The biwa woman is also a very important demon, she transports the upper moons and Muzan, in addition to having the most massive blood technique of all, that is "The Infinite Castle". 3- Many misinterpret the scene where Tanjiro bleeds from his nose after Mitsuri speaks in his ea, It's used to that when a character gets "excited" about a girl, but in this case Tanjiro bled from the nose because of the excitement of looking for a weapon that will make you stronger.

Yoriichi is the one who taught the other Hashiras to use the breath and from there all the breaths were born until the new generations. Therefore, Tanjiro is a descendant of Yoriichi. It appears in his dreams and also the first upper moon is Yoriichi's twin brother who, because he wanted to be stronger than his brother Yoriichi and not die, became a demon.
