Remarks on ratings being higher have to be taken with a grain of salt. Ratings are very accurate despite all the complaints about ratings. But they are only accurate within the field you are commonly playing against. Now that the ladies on tour always play different layouts than the men, they are in a ratings bubble. The ratings they get are a very accurate measure of how they've played vs each other. But the lack of diversity in competition mean they can't be directly compared to players of the same rating that are not in that ratings bubble. Even the touring pro men can't really be directly compared to non touring men because they are in their own bubble. I feel like they have a little more diversity of competition because of the bigger field and players who are part time who still play non tour events. This isn't to say pros ratings are higher or lower than they should be but they are inherently likely to drift one way or the other if not routinely playing with players outside the bubble. It's simply not possible to have an extremely accurate ratings system that can be equal across isolated fields, but we do have an extremely accurate ratings system that compares players in the same field / bubble.
