Hey great-grandkids! This is the kind of thing we used to watch. It was a way to escape our reality for a couple of hours. We thought our reality was bad.

Why his face just dissapointed when heard his dad buy the book..should be proud cuz that book would have sentimental value for that guy

But he still appreciated that Adrian is reading his book and getting invested in it

Cause he’s an aspiring writer. Profits are good for a career like that. So, as any aspiring entertainer/artist would, he appreciates income. However, he smiled at the end cause even though Adrian didn’t buy the book, he still understood Jackson’s message.

Might not? More like *will not* In the movie, they say they are constructing 9 arks to save whoever they can (but mostly the disgustingly rich people who funded the arks). They also mention that each ark is designed to hold up to 100.000 people each (although Helmsley argued that they could hold many more). Of the 9 arks that were under construction, most were still being worked on when the natural disasters began to catch up to them and work had to be abandoned to start emergency boarding procedures. At the end of the movie, we get a shot of only 3 of the 9 arks lying in the water. Assuming they held true to their 100.000 people per ark (plus some unexpected stowaways) that's only 300.000 people that survived this event, out of roughly 7.5-8 billion. A fraction of the human race survived. Not even half of what they were intending to save, which was roughly 900.000 people. Never mind the billions of people who died in the catastrophes. Safe to say that, disregarding the ridiculous 'science' in the movie, if this were to happen as portrayed, the odds of you surviving are next to none.

@@Xylarxcode actually, they originally had only eight arcs, with only four ready by the end, and one was crippled by the earthquakes. And at that point in the movie they crammed the people who were supposed to be in the 4th arc, plus the workers who actually built them. Probably closer to 400,000. Still not good survival odds though.
