I have no problem hearing the narration, and the music didn’t bother me at all. I didn’t even think about it until I read this comment.

Considering the 'fleet' of US museum ships rivals most of the worlds navies it's a surprise when ships don't get saved. Sadly, no more carriers will be preserved. No-one was able save the Forrestal-class ships and nuclear one can't be saved on account of the way they have to pull the reactors. They were able to preserve the Nautilus.

Great video! Many of the cut scenes are from the 1950’s tv series called The Silent Service. The show is surprisingly well done given its time in television history.

The fish that the Flasher is named for is also called the tripletail and in recent years has become seasonally available in Florida. Very good eating. One consequence of naming subs for fish…

Yes, the WWII fleet boats were designed to. The footage used are from sea trial tests. During WWII, it was called combat or crash surfacing if used during fighting or emergency serfacing if the boat had to get to the serface right damn quick and in a hurry. Ever since the 594 class boats, only the term emergency service has been used.
