The United States Air Force was founded in 1947.
This video is a tribute to the Men and Women of the USAF in those early years and in particular to those Stationed in the United Kingdom.
Photo Credits: My photographs are supplemented by images from Wing and Squadron Yearbooks of the period. In addition, I have included a number of sourced photographs and credited the originator where known and denoted (s/p) on the images where the contributor is not known. I do not claim ownership of said images and no infringement of of personal copyright is intended by their use. With thanks to Bentwaters Cold War Museum (BCWM) and the Public Domain Archive.
Music Score: The music, 'American Airman' is performed by the USAF 'Rock Band' - MAX IMPACT.
(Note: Some of the image transitions are a little fast so as to fit the music score).

Many bases missing from that era. My family was at RAF Burderop Park. Many of the photos in other videos.

Thank you for your comments. I'd never heard of RAF Burderop Park - 7505th USAF Hospital before your post. It only highlights the enormous USAF build up in Britain during the 'Cold War' at Bases such as RAF's Bovingdon, East Kirkby, Little Rissington (Hospital), Manston, Shepherds Grove, South Ruislip to name but a few and today, many will not be aware of the USAF presence at such places - as I wasn't with Burderop Park. I'm grateful for the information.
