The last statement is the core of enlightened training. Taking responsibility for the falsity of the idea of punishment with horses is essential. . As trainers we are responsible for the learning environment and training scenario. If the horse has a bad experience and demonstrates the subsequent reaction to it, we should be looking at the mistake in the training, not punishing the horse. Thank you for clarifying this, Dr. McLean. ☀️

Unfortunately I still see too many horse trainers on KZbin who use sticks & whips as a punishment tool. Where is the line between negative reinforcement & moving into a positive punishment on quadrant seems lost on many of the trainers.
