This is lovely watch, especially when paired with the black rubber strap. What makes this watch even more appealing is its size at 41mm - far more wearable than the 42.5mm of the chronograph. Great review.👍

It’s a masterpiece, I’d be careful and discrete with this thing in public. I’ve seen rough looking folks eyeing up London office workers wrists on the tube. They know a VC Overseas, Patek Nautilus or AP Royal Oak when they see one, they’re not at all fixated on Rolex whatever. It’s absurd that I rarely seen videos about personal security whilst wearing your life savings in public, not sure why this is, as if watch collectors are somehow immune to being mugged or robbed, so mind how you go.

I've had my black 4500v for 1 1/2 years now and it only gets better. Black was my first choice over the popular blue dial although I would have been happy with any color the depth of the lacquered dial is amazing as said. I did not realize the DT was also 41mm unlike the chrono at 42.5mm. Now I want one and it would have to black as well. The red accents are just to eye popping to consider any other choice.

I believe Vacheron’s claim of “oldest continuous watchmaking maison” is correct. Blancpain was founded before them, but didn’t exist for a decade or so in the 70’s, only to have JC Biver bring them back from the grave.

The VC Overseas is a compelling piece. Not sure about the AM/PM indicator though, a power reserve is more useful imho.

Completely concur. My one negative on this nice piece. Imagine if they had found a subtle, different way to show that detail or even remove it completely. What a clean dial layout that would be.

It's a dual time - the AM/PM is useful for the second hour hand. PR are a little redundant for automatic watches IMO.

1. I think it has a lot to do with personal preferences. I personally like a good rubber strap to bracelet. At the same time some people might consider resale value

The rubber allows you to pull the case down closer to the wrist whereas the bracelet protrudes a bit much for people. This watch wears much smaller when you take it off the bracelet.

I prefer the older Dual Time. By a huuuge margin. Gen 3 is much less sporty, it's in the nautilus and Royal Oak territory. Gen 2 was unique. It was in between RO and Offshore. Felt sporty and robust, but without being too bulky like Offshore. It offered something different. But clearly mass market doesn't share my opinion, gen 3 seems to be much more succesfull :) But I still prefer older watches. Maybe expect 3-hander, this one is nicer on new generation. Butch Chrono or Dual Time were much better before. And I say that after owning both, new and old one.
