I always loved this song, but the character he brought to it gave the song an entirely new dimension. Absolutely magnificent!

Lyrics! Give to me the life I love Let the lave go by me Give the jolly heaven above And the byway nigh me Bed in the bush with stars to see Bread I dip in the river- There’s the life for a man like me There’s the life for ever Let the blow fall soon or late Let what will be o’er me; Give the face of earth around And the road before me Wealth I seek not, hope nor love Nor a friend to know me; All I seek, the heaven above And the road below me Or let autumn fall on me Where afield I linger Silencing the bird on tree Biting the blue finger White as meal the frosty field- Warm the fireside haven- Not to autumn will I yield Not to winter even!

Excellent portrayal, and what a voice. He really brings the character to life. I sang this for my A-Level Music practical exam, and it holds a special place for me, I'm so glad I found this performance.

I can’t stop watching this! I’m a freshman in high school and could only dream to put so much character in my voice like this guy does. Seriously well done. I hope that I could do this well if I ever preform this piece.

Why is this in Bb min instead of the standard baritone C? Would be well within this young man's range from the sound of it, the lowered key makes the climactic parts sound less climactic.

I should have a score in your key, it's much easier for me as I'm a bass/baritone (probably) that is closer to the bass side of things and would probably benefit from this being lowered for the time being as I haven't quite found the right technique for my high range, anything above high D sounds eh out of my voice
