You get nice gajak (the fritters ) at lower vale. If you see the vale village hall, lower vale begins here (upper vale ends here) so if you are on foot (in the direction of port louis), after the village hall, there is a bend, and you’ll find someone making upholstery or it’s called “garnisseur”. This place here on Friday, after the day prayer (jumuah) between 1:45 and 2 pm, you’ll get yummy fritters. It’s amazing! You can try them: Chicken samoussa Badia poule CRoquettes mais and poulet Croquette fromages Cutlet The above mentioned ones are delectable. Try them with their chutney. There are other choices also. But don’t try everything on the same day. Stomach will be sick.

Gajaks with green island or Phoenix beer. I was told a whiskey with fresh coconut water on ice is heavenly on a hot December day in Mauritius.
