Glad you enjoyed it, it was a semi pro camera at the time but a lot of tinkering in modern up scaling software

Beltin! There's quite a lot of rocking and rolling there as they make their way in and out and of course, there's always some wazzock who gets in the way ;)

Best trains in the world. Fastest most capable the Class 43 HST. Sounds best with a Valenta that Napier turbo screaming. Awesome machines. I didn’t like the MTU’s at launch but they grew on me, brilliant German engineering.

Nah, give the intercity 225s any day. They're faster and they won't make you deaf, and they don't burn fossil fuels.

@steverussell2770Maybe they do, I like the 225's because they're quieter with no diesel carbon emissions.

@steverussell2770 I can believe that, but the 225s are quieter, and they don't burn diesel.

Nice…I always found that from somewhat larger stations like Reading, or Swindon, the departures were often a bit more polite…but once you got away to smaller stations, e.g. Pewsey, Totnes, to name just a couple of random ones, often they’d get thrashed:

Cheltenham bound trains were a sight to see on departure from Swindon Platform 3, as they frequently would notch up to full power momentarily!

Shame there wasnt one when i was there, sounds good
@petec2583Ай бұрын
The first one that came in I thought was the Cheltenham as it was using platform 3, then I realised they all were! And then I saw in the background that platform 4 didn't exist yet. No wonder they opted to convert that loading dock(?), must have been a huge pain having the down trains cross over everything to get to 3 and back again.

Always surprised how slow the crossover layout was at Swindon, considering the vast majority of trains called and the clear desire of BR for competitive journey times along the M4 corridor. I bet those 20/25mph limits weren’t often strictly observed though, probably why the track alignment is in such poor condition 😂 And of course the infamous hump over the station subway (which only recently still meant freight was limited to 40mph to avoid causing structural damage.)
@thehogfat4 ай бұрын
Never noticed that hump before
@petec2583Ай бұрын
Freight is still limited to 40mph even today. I never knew the reason though, so thanks.
