Hi Tim, I really appreciate this video because you provide a reference for help with devotions. I plan on picking one up to pray along with the Psalms. As a young man, I was unchurched. I had several Mormon friends and became a Mormon when I was 18. Two of my degrees are from BYU, and I was married in a Mormon temple. A couple of my kids have been Mormon missionaries. Leaving Mormonism and becoming a Christian was a difficult and lonely journey. Living in Utah isn’t much of a help either. Another book I highly recommend is The Confessions of St. Augustine in Maria Boulding’s translation. (You can ignore the last 3 chapters as even Catholic theologians can’t make sense of them!) the Confession used to be part of the Western Canon. For me, Augustine’s story of being young, joining a cult, then coming to Christianity resonates strongly. Stay awesome Tim. Mike

That was so good man! I appreciate your honesty in this video. We all could be more effective and active in our prayer lives. Any time we can draw from people who where more devoted to communion with the Lord than we are it’s an awesome opportunity. I always try oblige by this simple principle “You must surround yourself with people who love Jesus more than you do”.. These Puritans most certainly push you towards a deeper walk with the Lord.
