I finished law school dead last in the top half of my class (this was unofficial and leaked because the U of C does not officially rank). After a false start I went into property management for a private company first and then for the government. I had a very good career, challenging and rewarding. Retired now with a pension.

Good info to know, I don't think this is a new pattern either. My dad graduated in the 80's and went straight to London Ontario, he didn't even think about Toronto because that's where everyone goes!

I want to go to law school in the north (not a top tier school) but want to work in the south (small town). How feasable is this idea? How is is working as a public defender in a rural small town?
