They literally gave Caroline children because Stefan was never there 😂 Steroline was a joke. Valerie was such a good addition to the show!

It’s funny because, everyone else thinks reina looks like nina 😆 it was also meant so for casting. To me she does have a similar look with the brow line and facial structures etc What I don’t get is why Stefan didn’t knock the sword out but stepped in front of it (I mean for the story obvi) he’s a vampire he basically forced the sword into himself by doing that- I hate how now Stefan has to suffer in that sense and Damon suffers again with the guilt that Stefan again chose that for him without Damon asking him to. Ugh paradox

That's not actually true. The writers of the show said they wrote the doppleganger jokes in the show becasue they thought she looked like Nina but Ninawas never supposed to play her. Someone asked Julie Plec about it on twitter and here was her repsonse: “The answer is total blind, and I do mean blind, coincidence. It wasn’t a resemblance we noticed right away, but once someone pointed it out, it was all we could see. We threw in a couple jokes about it, but truthfully, there is no mythological reason for it.” Plus it would not make sense story wise because in season 5 all the dopplegangers were killed except Stefan and Elena, so Rayna couldn't be a doppleganger. If Rayna was a dopplganger then the traveler spell would not have worked because for it to work there could only be one of each doppleganger alive.
