The Addax 18 (and its bigger brother, the 25L) is a great edc backpack with an awesome high-vis interior. It also is loop lined in many areas which is great for adding organizational panels or morale patches. Can hold up to a 15 in laptop, as well as a small tablet and folders etc.

Agreed on an external attachment point. Also, you may like Tom bihn synapse line since the water bottle is internal & centered.

I tried a synapse years ago but didn’t love the layout, and it was too big for me for edc…but I actually have a luminary en route to me and am looking forward to trying that one!

Great review! I wish more bags used higher visible linings. Most of my bags a have to attach a flashlight too to see.

Good review, I wonder if this might be the way of the future ? A person being able to customize their bags? Pros and cons to water bottle inside. Agree, for this bag it does looks better. I always laugh because unless my wife is with me I end of taking the bag off to access an outside water bottle . The only negative takes away from internal space. But do we need more space to carry more junk? Oh by the way I bought vapour cross body based in your video. Cheers Vancouver Island Canada

Hi James, as you said there are Pros/Cons for bottles inside/outside, and debated this during R&D. We felt inside carry was most secure to avoid lost/stolen bottles. -Alex @ Vanquest

Too bad it's not a clamshell opening (I wonder if that can be modded) otherwise I'd definitely pick this one up. It would be nice if there was a smaller version of this bag for just EDC as I don't carry a laptop.

Vanquest has a smaller bag in this line called the carbide, but I have not tried it yet. I’ve heard though, that the backpack straps on it can’t be shortened enough for some users though, so I’m hesitant that it would work for me.

It's so nice to have a woman interested in EDC. I have a stupid question when you carry a sling, bag, does that replace your purse or do you carry both? I an now following your vlog. I have the 5.11 5L in green/brown. Recently I began using the Alpaka and I agree with you that their blue looks great. If you haven't looked at Vertex they have some great features and clever pockets for CCW that can be used for other uses. Thanks

Thank you so much for your feedback I really appreciate it! If I carry a sling, that definitely replaces a purse-I don’t carry both!☺️ I have checked out vertx, I really love the quality of their bags, they sometimes just end up feeling too heavy for me after I load them out. I have a video on the tourist sling, and I also tried the transit and essential bags years ago. I haven’t tried out their backpacks yet, though!
