Could you do more informational content on the game like this series. I don't get muh chances to play agricola but learning about the game on your channel is always interesting

Thanks for the comment! Yeah it's a bit of a quandary for me because often I'd rather just be playing games than making informational or strategy content - even though I know that those are well-liked. So having sponsorship really made this series happen. But I'll keep this in mind, surely you're not the only one in your situation.

@@LuminSperling record yourself playing and talk through the moves like you are explaining to the 5 year old. Like for example "Here I have 3 wood, 2 reed, 1 occupation, 2 sheep available. I am picking 2 reed because its better than picking 3 wood because X, its better than picking occupation because Y, its better than picking 2 sheep because Z".. context will matter of course but explaining that context is what makes it educational (like for example you picked reed because noone can house or cook sheep (so its safe), you need wood to play certain improvement, or you are close to getting first room or something else etc... I find that your other educational videos where you try to teach are a bit ahead of entry level already, you and the person you teach are speaking from position of knowledge already, like they say they picked "Childless and some other card", and you just say "good move", without explaining why thats a good pick and what they could potentially do with it. I hope what I am saying is making sense... need to discuss very very basic things, at least for a few videos. Then if someone asks point them to those videos. When getting into Agricola I tried learning from your series, but it was too advanced for someone who has never played, I had to kind of just play on BGA and lose a bunch to learn. Once I had the basics down, then watching your videos made sense. But they werent as useful as they would have been when I knew nothing.

@@Duxa_ Thanks for this detailed comment. Very helpful to hear some examples that would be good for newer players. Not an excuse, but an explanation: I didn't expect my channel would get even this big, and an early decision I made for my own sanity was targeting an audience that already knew Agricola and providing the intermediate+ commentary. But I do agree these days having at least a little more beginner-focused content would be good.

Yeah, kind of what I was expecting to hear about FOTM. I do like to play with it whenever I'm able to get Agricola to the table with friends or family (they just want the horses to be in the game lol) but yes, it's more of a novelty that doesn't lend itself very well to the level of strategy that encompasses the base game. However, I did not know that there was supposed to be player decks for the revised edition, that's something I would love to see! BTW, nice job placing in those playtest tournaments. You got to be a part of Agricola history!

No substitute for having the animals your fellow gamers want! Thanks!

The issue with FotM is that there hasn't ever been a a good online edition with enough of a player base. I own a physical copy, but I've played it 3 times, had a great time each. But that's a very different ball game to playing hundreds of games on BaJ.

true, in a parallel universe where Moor had an online implementation and player base, my views could be very different

I love the implementation on BGA. One of the downsides is that only paying "premium" players can start games. Other than that, the limited card set and inability to play 5-6 player are negatives. Having such a huge player group creates a great opportunity for the revised 5-6 payer, which I've enjoyed playing and aren't available anywhere online.

The premium is a small downside, and while I can't say for sure how much harder it is to find games as a free player, I feel like the Agricola playerbase is big enough for it to not be a big deal (though it can be for less-played games.) Also 500+ cards is limited in the sense that it's not the full 672, but is still fantastic IMO

Haha. I love FotM and don't want to play base agricola anymore. Each to their own!
