The Veldt: Original Unedited "Stutter" version - deadmau5 feat. Chris James

"The Veldt", also known as "The World that the Children Made" was a short story written by Ray Bradbury.
In the story, a family has a house that does literally everything for them, from cooking to cleaning and even tying shoes by the means of many individual machines built into the home. One extension of the house was known as "the nursery" where the husband and wife's two 10 year old children would play.
This room could create anything that the children imagined in it, one of the things it created was an African glade, or Veldt.
The father would lock the nursery so the kids couldn't play in it as a form of punishment, which the kids hated. When they were allowed in the room (which was most of the time because the mom would bend to the children's tantrums) the kids began to think up the Veldt and imagine their parents being eaten by lions. The children had grown to love the room more than their parents.
The father one day in a rage against the families dependency on technology was going to shut off the nursery for good. The children in anger tricked the parents into going into the room and locked the door behind them, where they made the lions kill the parents for real so they could play in the room forever.
This music video takes place immediately following the death of the parents.

I believe that the stutter part was intended to even more emphasize the influence of technology on human being which is kind of the point of this story. I like it and even the "Don't leave it, don't leave it" part.

I actually think I prefer the start of this and I liked the stutter but the “don’t leave it” is to prominent. If it was more in the background or just on the last run of the chorus at the end of the track it would have been better placed. Maybe the stutter would have been better placed on the second verse where it says digital family. 🤔 Still love both versions though and I love the story/video of how the collaboration came about 💙

The reality is deadmau5 cut all the fat it had and just had the best parts of it. Sounded better, clean and organized, driving down a clear open road. This version had bumps and turns and people in front of you in a 2 lane highway, you can just take it and go to the left lane but you just feel pissed that the guy ruined your drive by just existing. The song is almost 9 minutes long but you don't even feel it, I generally think only 4 minutes pass by playing the song. My favorite is there might be coffee, then The Veldt in the album.
