The Veldt - the very first story (other than the introduction) the Ray Bradbury's sci-fi masterpiece "The Illustrated Man", 1951 I think. I read this collection of fantastic and straightforward short-stories when I was 14. It really changed my perspective on fiction. "Can you hear the screams?!" "Happy technology!" The song actually made me tear up, especially the end of it hearing the natural noises. All my childhood and teenage years I've always longed to live in the Alaskan tundra. I wanted to drop out because I was so tired of living in this society. But my parents thought I was insane and basically forced me to finish school and get a career. Right now, I hate my job and nothing else would make it any better. My job at least pays good money, but I want to live free, careless, young, wild, everything. Ride an ATV in the tundra. This song has such a good vibe to it that makes me think of what I always wanted to be, in the free natural world. But here I am, dead end job, dreams crushed, and left with a cold heart. I could live there right now if I wanted, but everyone told me reasons why I shouldn't go there. I honestly don't care, but I can't just leave my friends and never be heard from. All in all, I just dont really like the life I'm living and I just want to live in my fantasy. This is deep, but that's how I feel.
